"Chat Menu Needs World Chat"

Zenimax/Bethesda can we get World Chat in the chat menu please it will help everyone that's looking for members World Bosses, Dungeons, Trials and so on. World Chat will help so many people from jumping zone to zone asking for help. This would ease the community on waiting for that last Class or role to join them in Trials and save everyone time.

Good Lord, I can't even keep up with 2 guilds and zone chat. World chat would have stuff scrolling up impossibly fast

I understand why you would want this, but I would immediately make the color black, rendering it invisible, like I have already done with Zone and Yell.

The fact that chat is largely spam, trolls, and salt is the reason why you're having trouble using it to play the game. Extending the reach will only increase the amount of spam, trolls, and salt in a very small chat window. Plus it will scroll so rapidly as to make it unreadable.

ya ik you can turn of the hud but that turns of guild chat too

world chat would be 20 times worse than zone chat. so many guild ads, price checks, and trolling that no one will be able read what's posted.

Got no. Zone chat is bad enough as it is. There would be no benefit toa world chat other than spammers no longer needing to travel between zones before spamming.

Click right on the chat tab and options. There you can turn it off.

i would love this.
i hope they do this.

eso is the only mmo i have ever played and stayed with that did not have a world chat and a world trade and a world auction house.

There IS an option to turn off Zone chat, independent of the other chat tabs.
Each tab has its own check-box in the Chat HUD options.

I would suggest not making a server wide general chat as it would be something we would need to run off.

I would probably need to turn it off to avoid seeing the trolls.

World chat would be useful indeed, tho I think it might end up as a LF Group / Guild chat with random trolls and what not.

So I suggest making a world LF Group, World LF Guild and a World chat. With the current ability of turning it on and off of course

Anyone saying 'No, Because Trolls".... Disable chat and play your single-player skyrim experience. Yes there are trolls in zone, there are also a lot of Guilds, WTBs, WTS, LFGs, Randoms asking for help and of course you got some trolls.

Perhaps trolls are a worse issue on US then EU? As a EU player I cannot really say that the chat is full of trolls, you get your one or another troll in zone but mostly not.

I thought World Chat would be utterly horrible when they instituted it in LOTRO after seeing how freaking annoying zone chats were, but I was pleasantly surprised. A lot of trolls who liked to spam a zone and then run after they annoyed people were not really willing to commit to ticking off everyone in the entire server and having people all over the game put them on ignore. And I rarely saw "lfg" or sales posts there either, because people realized that most people that even used World Chat put it in one tab, and put sales and lfg in another, and put people who abused WC on ignore so they did not see them even after they moved to a legit venue. It just bites you in the butt to abuse WC when everyone in the game can see you being a jerk and has easy access to Ignore you, which makes them unable to see when you're being serious. It turned out to be pretty self-policing.
