Do we need 'inspection' option in interaction menu ?

Sometimes inspecting other player's gears was fun and satisfies my curiosity :):)
also you could learn from experienced players ,see what gears setups they choose.

    Nope.

That breaks privacy and is a bit cheaty for duels/tournaments.

Welcome, Moon-and-Star, to this place where destiny is made.

I play healers or DPS often for vet dungeons and trials (NA, CP810+). I play mostly elves or Argonians.
I primarily play Damage-Based stuff in PvP, but occasionally I'll play something tanky or got the heals.
I also love gaining more knowledge both metaphysical and mundane regarding TES lore.

I also occasionally role-play, but I prefer playing the game.

We don't need an inspection option, but perhaps an ingame way to quickly show your gear loadout to other players would be nice. I suppose you can just list the 3 sets you're using, and link 3 of the pieces, but a one click option could be useful.

Yup, the meta is toxic enough. Last thing we need is people getting kicked because they're wearing the wrong set.

God forbid we don't get that last 2% leaderboard DPS in Blessed Crucible. Whatever will we do?

    No to exact gear.

I'm not sure if a collectibles identifier for stuff like motifs and costumes would be all that helpful when there are already other resources both in and outside the game for those types of items.

No. It's none of your business what I'm wearing or how I'm set up.

You can ask and I can decide if I want to answer - that should be the end of it.

edit: I also hate the whole lootspy crap. It's built into one of the mods I have and I don't activate it - I ask the group if they got something they would be willing to share and if they don't, then that's it. Just had a fight with another DPS in our guild the other day that spied I got a chestpiece they wanted when I was going to use it on my DPS (was currently tanking for the run) and they have had an attitude for a week and have gone out of their way to never share any other gear with me I've asked for that they offered to the group.

You are not entitled to anything from anyone else. Not gear. Not knowledge. You can ask and should be able to live with a negative answer.

Some people crit their pants over people seeing loot drops through addons, this would be even more invasive. For cosmetics/styles/names of costumes, sure, but actual gear, nah.

The last thing we need are more half-brained elitists, who are kicking competent players from the group, because they're not running a mangled Alcast build that will never work.

So gear magically (or stamically?) makes you good now?

I'm far more interested in what a player can do, not so much about restrictions in the gear they use to do it.
Just because you don't like the way something is doesn't necessarily make it wrong...

    Earn it.

IRL'ing for a while for assorted reasons, in forum, and in game.

In other MMOs yes but not on this one. Quite the delusion though, since 15k dps people spam nCR runs like mad.

Meta is poison. Sure Meta brings the most on the table but the 2nd, 3rd or 4th option isn't really that far behind.

Yeah no... I like using unique builds and often times they work because I KNOW how to play my builds, not some cookie cutter build from the internet that I don't know how to play.
    Hoping for more playable races

I agree. It’s like Slimecraw, Sellistrix, Kraghs, Toothrow, Night Terror and Vipers don’t even exist.

If it’s not for trials.... who cares what gear another person is wearing. And if it is for trials people usually ask to make sure they aren’t doubling up on sets unnecessarily (no double Ebon for example).

Sorry OP, back to the drawing board for that idea.

Speaking for myself it's not about secrets. It's about avoiding being silently judged - and possibly rejected - on a build that works for me.

This, its already plenty of elitism.

One related question, some saw that my tank was using the crown 3 stat potions. Yes they work well enough outside of harder stuff. But how did he know.
On the imperfect in CWC it was two players trying to kill it then I enter, one said nice an healer. How did they know,
I was on destro staff, healing was asylum so you could guess that, outfit so hard to guess gear. Khajiit magic build so makes more sense for healer. And yes obvious response was an heal :)
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

    Fair question:

    1) In PvP, knowing what players habitually run provides an advantage

    2) In PvE, I don't want people telling me what to wear. I perform; that's all they need to know.

    3) In general, it's nosy... like peeping in my windows to see my personal stuff. Get lost.

    :)

Inspection for armor styles would be ok but not actual gear. I have seen real horror shows when it came to inspection and players making mod/addons. In one game I played in the past someone made a mod that could inspect everyone within inspection range, take that information and place it on a third-party website. And because the game allowed for logging the combat of every player around the person doing the logging; they made entire player profiles. So, if you tried joining a group the group leader would just pull the data off the website with the mod and auto kick people who would didn’t have the “approved” items equipped and/or didn’t have the dps score they wanted.
