Stop talking about THE GAME here. I'm talking about how people treat each other ffs.

You're not specifying that well enough in your original post though. You're basically coming across as someone complaining about people complaining.

It's also not an actual problem. In no way is game content and development suffering, because a certain percentage is complaining on forums and websites.

People being rude and treating others like trash in-game is a problem though, especially when its done towards newer players, since they're more likely to quit.

If people take their frustration out on other players(that didn't do anything wrong intentionally), than tbh they should probably stop playing ESO. I actually agree about that.

Also, it seems from your post that this is quite stressful for you - maybe it would be a good idea to take a break from the forum if it's bothering you that much that you felt you needed to make a topic about it. Maybe come back after the event when things are likely to have died down a bit.

False assumption yet again, I'm here after weeks. And I haven't logged in the game for weeks until today. Actually highlights the newborn toxicity even further.

One would expect to come back to the game one used to love. But instead is faced by something different.

Also, I especially love the way you said "if you felt you needed to make a topic about it." So being vocal and caring about what used to be a lovely friendly place which turned into a hostile hell is now a sign of stress and imbalance? What world do we all live in...

You're shooting him/her down for something you yourself did in your OP. You can criticise others, but seem to think you're immune from the same treatment. If you're gonna lay into a group of people, have the backbone to take some back on the chin. Also, I can't recall a time when people never moaned about the game. You seem to be creating a false argument in which to base your own argument.

I get you're unhappy about others being unhappy, but that's what gamers do. We moan, just like you are moaning about us moaning.

Seriously, how did you expect this convo to evolve when you were the one that began the hostility? No point playing the victim when you were the instigator of it all. I actually happen to agree with the sentiment behind your post, but it's been poorly executed.

Honestly I don't think your post is achieving anything except perhaps annoying players who already feel frustrated with the game at the moment, BUT I think you already know that.

I don't know of any game forum which doesn't have posts reflecting their feelings about bugs or glitches along with the normal discussion ones.

The thing is if they upset you so much why not just bypass them - will be much better for your bloodpressure !

Never said the game was bad, learn to read and stop assuming. I'm talking to a specific group of people.

Not to mention that if you let this go, we'll be on the level of swtor in a matter of couple years. You want that?

So was I, which is why the "learn to read" comment is so funny. Get the stick out.

Nothing against the OP but this thread is as futile as any other about criticizing the game/community.
There will always be troll threads in the forum, as the OP said, but many other valid ones.
If nobody opines than the game doesnt grow/evolves. Anyone has the right to have an opinion... good or bad one!

    My opinion to moderators team:
There should be ONLY one specific main-thread (Somewhere im the forum) where people could use the NERF and BUFF words. These words should be automatically deleted in any other thread...
I know that is not so much democratic, but thats my opinion :p

I'm quite aware now that someone has pointed it out actually. I guess I just don't care, cause this is how I feel. There used to be a time when I was respectful. I guess that's gone now. Ah well. Seeing how it makes no difference, I don't understand why should I bother changing it now.

You're jabbing at me too. Everyone opposed to OP of the topic is. Doesn't matter how subtle, it's quite apparent. Hey but guess what, I'm happy you are.

But I get it. There's no other sensible argument so people resort to this. I'm still making a point though and that's what everyone should focus on. Not the style it's written. Not to mention I'm not even a native English speaker.

Another thing is, people have to stop assuming there's an angry tone hidden in the text, which seems to be some kind of strange phenomenon in MMO communities. People make up a tone for a sentence of criticism and then proceed to treat the person accordingly, despite the fact that the OP is often so chill even Bob Marley would be jealous.

Here it's also quite noticeable. All I can say to that is /shrug. Go back to reality.

Personally, I think the game is overall pretty awesome. But some of the things ZOS does, or neglects to do, really gets under my skin. So I occasionally come here and vent. Just because you read what people complain about doesn't mean they should just quit. Better to contemplate why you're here complaining about people complaining. Stop reading the threads and go do something you enjoy.

Eh, we know there's a generation "divide".... which I must say I don't personally have with our children and grandchildren; or my sister and BIL and their son and his wife; or our very good friends who are a decade and more younger than us - but which does occur with my brother and his wife who are only a couple of years younger than I am.... works for me, I have zero use for them anyway.

The issue seems to be that some people think "oldsters" shouldn't play games? I dunno, really.... That game is still pretty fun and the class stories still hold up. It has its merits and it's even getting more story content this month. Your point? There are many other games that are in a much worse state, being Guild Wars 2 another MMO that's falling flat on its face due to how many controversies it's getting. And also a terrible community... the only difference is that since their forums are so heavily moderated, they don't get threads like the ones OP mentioned.
I’m still looking forward to this game once it’s done it’s beta testing and gets its official release

That salt, though. If it's been building for this long, you might want to put it to better use elsewhere.

    I agree with the OP.

I think the advancement in technology where you can now sit behind a computer screen, unknown to anyone, has given the opportunity to a lot of people to do and say whatever they want. It's as if whatever their parents thought them is no longer a guide to live by. It's also that a lot of children in today's population don't seem to care one way or another.

Unfortunately, the genie is out off the bottle, and there's no way to put it back. We have to live with those people whether we like it or not.

And not only does this occur in games, it also occurs in real life, where a lot of unpleasant people have starting to exhibit very bad behavior, regardless of the consequences.

NOTE: I kept this very general because I didn't want to go into details like politics, examples set by people who spend time in the public eye, etc. But that all comes together to shape the current population for generations to come, and if you keep up with the news you see that it's also taking place in other countries.

You're talking about rumors from all the way back to January. The game has been plagued with those since release. While it's true that a chunk of BioWare Austin has temporarily moved to help Edmonton with Anthem's development, the game is still being updated and will most likely receive a new expansion later in 2019 as suggested by the community manager and other devs (patch 6.0).

You're completely right. I also love the comment about being "original" while there are a ridiculous amount of posts that repeat. For me, I will post about the crappy work of the combat development team and because of it I play once a week choosing to use my time irl.

This topic will have a lot of backlash as it addresses addiction, ego and self efficacy, along with impulse and self control. We all know people that play sun up to sun down and are could be hearing from people around them something similar.

As for the comment about age demographics, the average video game player is 35. This isnt just a youngin thing

    Ageist?

Lol, yeah who keeps shaking their heads at “millennials” for every single thing. The only reason why there is a generation argument in this thread is because people just jump to “blame entitled millennials” for every last thing and if that isn’t the definition of ageist then I don’t know.

No one is “too old” to play video games, that isn’t even why it was brought up. It was brought up because the first thing “certain types” of people jump to is “lol you want something, must be an entitled millennial”. But hey, if there is any group of people who are skilled in turning a conversation about one thing into a conversation about themselves it’s.... guess.... wait for it.... baby boomers. ;)

Oh damn! You done did it now. The Greatest Generation's kids are a-comin' for you!

Seriously, don't poke the bear when it comes to older folks. We know a million ways to make you look ... immature.

Yeah, I was gonna weigh in on that, but figured my post would disappear soon after. ;)

I started playing RPGs in the mid-70s, DMing PnP AD&D for my daughter and her jr high school friends. Got my first computer in 1984, got my first CRPG in 1985. CRPGs were - a revelation and a blessing - 'cause when the kids all go off to college....

But really, the bottom line seems sometimes to be ageist. Kind of weird.

We are a generation of 160 characters and 30 second Snapchats.

Everyone wants everything done without any effort.

Don't kid yourself. If twitter and snapchat were around when the worst generation {aka Baby Boomers) were around you would see some stuff, let me tell you. Baby boomers have been flocking to Facebook, look what it has become.

Worst generation. Interesting statement. Why is that, in your world view?

As a 69 year old baby boomer, that has piqued my curiosity, also!

Wow. Whew. I'm a baby boomer. I'll be 71 this month. I don't do fb or twitter or any other social media crap. I don't need to parade the inconsequential details of my life for anyone. In fact, I really rather abhor the whole thing.... social media I mean. I think it should be wiped off the internet....

    Ageist?

Not one of the people who admitted to being baby boomers said anything about "blaming entitled millennials". And it wasn't we 'boomers' who turned this into a conversation about ourselves..........it was the person who made the rude remark about us. The OP's post is about people being nicer to each other........try it sometime.
