Like Minyassa said, it is not about the game going "hey look at how many languages I can speak!" but more making sure that people get the message that the game is shutting down for a while, using several commonly spoken languages.
"Showing off" implies that the target audience for other languages is you, the English-speaker who doesn't need them. Let me reassure you. That isn't aimed at you. It's aimed at other existing humans in the world that are also playing the game and might more readily recognize those languages. It is not meant to be a shockingly vulgar display of having knowledge, which I know is a cardinal sin, but is instead a utility. People who have allergies to peanuts should not browse a candy store; people who are allergic to being exposed to information that they don't already know should avoid games or any other internet media that are populated by other people.

You do realize, you're basically arguing for 'keep the server going down message blanketing the screen constantly at least for 15 minutes, if not longer, so Sylvermynx always sees it.' Each message once in your language is enough.

the NA servers are a combination of Canada which has French as a second language, numerous countries in South America and the Caribbean speak Spanish, Portuguese, French and Dutch, and of course the NA server is also home to the Asian community which makes up Japan and Korea, possibly other countries.
EU I shouldn't even have to explain every single European, Scandinavian and whatever other country uses that server.
And yea, not everyone knows english. No one is showing off by speaking their native language.

It's showing off, by unnecessarily repeating the message several times, saying 'hey look we're a global game!'
You completely missed the point of the post, that one message in the players' language, is all that's needed.

No, they're not, but you are showing a severe lack of reading comprehension by thinking that was the issue, rather than showing the message once in one of those languages the player selects.
