Steam login - russian roulette

I really don't care about money and time spent on this game, i had my fun, and of course dozen of mystery boxes or unavailability to play today is not a big issue.
But from school to college, from one job to other I was taught one main thing - customer is always right. If customer pays for something - he must receive it.
Since I pay and don't receive it, I am tired of sitting and waiting for god knows what - i requested refund from Steam, I understand that chance for refund is low, but it is like russian roulette - with some percentage we may solve this issue, though it is deletion of account if they approve this refund. I suggest other steam users to do the same - maybe if some hundreds of refund requests will come, somebody at steam or zos will see that something wrong is going on.

They won't give you a refund. You've owned the game too long and played too much.

    Steam login - russian roulette
So you literally have a 1 in 6 chance to die when trying to login with Steam?

I don't care about money, i need their answer - if they say nope, i'll have argument to continue discussion with them. You don't believe but with persistence and some e-mails you can bombard support that at some point somebody who can make decisions will notice. I have a lot of such issues IRL, first you are ignored, then shunned off, but at some point you will receive answer with excuses and your money.

This is russian roulette because steam may approve and it will be death of my chars in ESO. You don't believe but steam approves refunds quite easily if they are justified.

People just complaining about the title, but the argument is not bad.
It's one way to try to solve the problem since zenimax or steam don't want to fix it.

The servers were down for maintenance for over 5 hours today. I play on PC EU, but have some characters on the PC NA server. I have not been able to get on to the PC EU server since maintenance finished, but have been on NA, did horses, writs and a few random dungeons. I have kept going back to try and get into PC EU, but it keeps timing out. This is silly. It is about to hit 7pm and I haven't been able to play.

FOR FRACK SAKE ZOS! Give steam users a way of easily using the client others use to bypass steam?!!?!? I didn't even know ESO was a steam game for over a yeah lol. I mean the rest of us are fine and that's not fair. And i don't pay any more or less for steam games if that's what your worried about. This just doesn't make sense unless you are getting paid by Steam to keep them planted there?

    SET THEM FREE

I have played for two years and these issues with Steam keep happening. I can't play by just launching the file in the game folders. It prompts me to log in using Steam, even though I use the same password that I use to log into my ESO account on the elderscrollsonline.com website.

Two years and this has not been fixed. ZOS needs to come up with a way for those of us who bought ESO on Steam being able to play without using Steam. Either you do that to honour our purchases or ZOS will lose more subscriptions and more people will uninstall the game. I now have no confidence that the issue for Steam players will ever be addressed.

My review of this game on Steam is a thumbs down, and a short text saying "DO NOT BUY ESO FROM STEAM".

Oh look at that, now Google will shortly index this thread and my recommendation will appear again as a DO NOT BUY ESO FROM STEAM.

I enjoy ESO, but time to find an alternative game.

I am amazed that paying customers (yes I have an ESO+ subscription which I will be cancelling) keep getting treated this way. Like the OP says, treat the customer right or suffer the consequences - which in this case is loss of revenue.

I don't know if the Community Manager will read this thread. The lack of feedback on the re-occurring problems over the 2 years that I have played says that they will never do anything to fix the Steam problems.

Still, should a ZOS employee of any note bother to read these threads, they should note that even official Twitch Stream Team members routinely advise potential new players to not buy ESO on Steam. It really is an insult to those of us who bought the game in good faith on Steam, that it has got to this point. Officially sponsored Twitch channels go out of their way to steer people away from buying on Steam. It is a pity that ZOS does not recognise how bad this issue is. You will lose income from this.

I read somewhere on these forums that you can buy a separate key (any key) from the official site for your username (if linked with steam) and when you login(NOT via steam) you will get all your purchased dlc and stuff that you had on Steam when logging in. I swear i would do that...but what about my subscription? I made the mistake of also buying a 6 month subscription via Steam. So maybe i'll also try to get a refund from Steam and risk game deletion if approved. But then, i won't buy another subscription or whatever even from Bethesda..this is madness.

Stable, not changing from year to year problems.

    Dungeon finder breaks

Steam does not let EU (NA IS available )
A solution to the problem offered by our esteemed ZOS- buy a copy of the non-steam version of the client on our website. and activate.
Thanks, but I already bought more than a year, pay for ECO+.( not in steam, and on site eso)
And never have not returned a single day of subscription for the problem days....

Expect a recurrence the following year)
