It's really annoying having many languages in a row each several times blast the screen every shutdown. Have the user specify their language, and use that. One language.

Nope. It happens on the NA servers too. If I remember right, you see messages in German, French, Japanese and English. Nothing in Spanish--which would be a lot more useful than German-- go figure.1 -

They're talking about the system notifications which say something like "The server is going down for maintenance in 15 minutes". If you've never been on just before maintenance, you wouldn't have seen them.
I personally LIKE the multiple languages, because there have been times when I've looked away from my computer when the English message appeared, and been alerted to the shutdown by seeing one of the other language messages.Guildmaster of the UESP Guild on the North American PC/Mac Server 2350+ CP & also found on the European PC/Mac Server 1700+ CP

Malcadicta✭✭✭I find it mildly annoying to see a lot of French/German in zone chat since they have dedicated channels for that, but I dislike the most poeple talking in groups (dungs and so on) in other languages when it's a randomly selected group. Like guys, I have no clue what do you want to tell me, I know only basics of German.
You only really see French and German (sometimes Russian) since they don't need English to play, the game has a translation for these languages. Other people have to know English well enough to play with the whole game being in this laguage (like me) so you won't those languages outside specific guilds.
