Don't forget, magic users, to sprint through the dungeon, trailing trash mobs so they snap back onto the stamina char's who can't keep up without using their stamina and being useless when you reach the boss. That's vitally important.

And to truly be an artist, when they die from aforementioned trash mobs "ambushing" them as they try to keep up, don't forget to lay down some AoE abuse, like "rubbish n00b", or the goose I had last night "just die u r ***". You tend to have plenty of time to type after the boss wipes his bum with you.

Great Post, thank you for this :)
I feel sorry for new players because they are the ones likely to struggle most. As you say, older players could solo these, I don't have to worry about people not being able to do bosses or mechanics as I could carry it, nor do I need to worry about people leaving half way. For this event I'll try extra hard to look out for new players! :)

This should be quite the enjoyable event, more people to join my tank in Vet Fang and Vet Scalecaller when I specifically queue for those dungeons.

To New Players and Players New to Group Finder:
We’re not all jerks, I promise! Find a role that you like to do, ask if you need help, and try to have fun.

To Experienced Players who can run dungeons in our sleep and probably solo half of them:
Don’t be a jerk. That’s pretty simple, right? Just don’t be a jerk.

    (•••)
    Once in the dungeon
    Say hi
Ask if anyone needs the quest/gear
If you need the quest/gear, speak up. Most groups will wait for you
Stick together. This is a group dungeon and its polite to let the whole group do the dungeon. I know rushing ahead gets it done quicker, but its really annoying to the people left behind or stamina players who have to spend fighting resources to keep up with the pace.
At the end, if someone needed the quest, hang out long enough for them to turn it in. Once the group disbands, you have about 10 seconds before everyone gets kicked out of the dungeon.

Don’t be a jerk to players who don’t when you agreed to run with random players.(...)Jerks are no fun to play with,(...)

[*] It’s a group dungeon. While most of these can be soloed, this event is all about doing the dungeon as a group. Dungeons are a lot more fun when you stick together and complete them as a group. “But its more fun for me when I complete it quickly!” I hear the showboat DPS say. You are one person of four in the dungeon. If you want a speedrun, ask the group if that’s okay and if it is, go for it. Just be courteous – its no fun for the other people to be trailing in your wake

    Thanks for reading!

The important parts. Not just for the event but for life!

Also... Don’t be the jerk who *** I guild chat afterwards about those awful players who should just give up.
Everything will be alright in the end, if its not alright its not the end.

Below level 45 and you will not get normal dlc.

So Levels 45 - 49 CAN get a normal DLC? That makes sense to me, because it happened to me once last year in the event. Still, I'd like to doublecheck, because I've carelessly been assuming otherwise, and @DarcyMardin and I each have a character in the mid-40s.

Do you need a mic for communication purposes and if so how do you communicate with other players in group? I am expecting this to be a requirement but I am new to group dungeons. By the way I am on Xbox EU. Thanks for the guide it is very useful. I have done fungal grotto I solo with a modified Alcast tank build i.e. low DPS but very good survivability - are there any other normal dungeons that could be done solo as a tank?

@Ozzymandius you don't need a mic for normal dungeons. Normal dungeons really are very casual or at least they ought to be. In the unlikely event that somebody insists on issuing commands during a normal dungeon, just relax in the knowledge that person probably isn't much more experienced than you. Just be sure to enjoy the dungeon and don't fret about your capabilities in normal dungeons.

I don't really do stuff with other players too often so this event really stresses me out, even though I know at least half my characters would be fine running through normal dungeons. I just hate the idea of holding other people up, and I want to do the quests, and I've done very few dungeon runs with other people. Its kind of a nightmare lol. But I want to do it, so I'm putting out feelers looking for people to run with that maybe won't mind, or also are having stress about the event. If all else fails, I know I can solo FG1 on my stam sorc so I'll at least be able to get my feather. Soloing group dungeons was going to be my next adventure before I hurt my back, so I only got through that one so far.

They're not all that bad. Occassionally you'll meet someone that lacks the ability to interact with other humans in a reasonable manner, but they're not the norm.

You're more than welcome to look me up if you on PC/NA. Any of you can. It's pretty stress free.

    What s/he said.

Now, maybe you won't want to slow your group down so that you can dawdle through the whole story. In that case, after completing the dungeon once, maybe you'll feel comfortable queueing for it some other time. But in over half the dungeons, the story is quick enough that nobody will much mind if you indeed linger for the whole thing.

Great post but I can assure you that this is absolutely NOT going to happen. There is always one showboater (usually the fake tank!) that storms off ahead. Which is fine, I'm okay with it, I don't like it, but I've come to accept the inevitable.... BUT don't go moaning on chat when you've ran into a big mob you cant handle and die!!
I think ZOS should have capped the rewards boxes because by saying 1 box per character it is encouraging the event maximisers to feel the need to rush through every dungeon.... its this need to rush and get 14 boxes per day, every day, that will result in the forum rage posts.
I would have preferred if they increased the drop rate form the mystery boxes but limited it to one box per account per day. It would have made for a far less grindy experience.

Notwithstanding how supposedly easy everything is in normal mode, I've actually found it hard to do DLC dungeons without communication. The only reason my 4-noob group cleared RoM in last year's event is that I looked up instructions and repeated them at length into group chat. And the Planar Inhibitor is pretty hopeless even on normal unless some in the group have some idea what's going on.

Even non DLC dungeons can have understand-or-fail mechanics. So there is plenty of reason to have a quickly typed mechanics review before certain fights -- Malubeth in Wayrest Sewers 2, the red/blue mechanic in the final fight of Banished Cells 2, the "do the obvious right thing QUICKLY or the boss heals up" mechanics in Arx Corinium and Direfrost Keep, and quite a few others. (I once failed Arx Corinium, despite having cleared it multiple times before, because nobody in a very low-DPS group knew to get out of red in the Fanged Menace fight.)

At Level 45, all of the DLC dungeons (that you own) unlock as part of your level up reward, along with your Undaunted invite. So yes, you'd be able to get a DLC dungeon for your Normal Daily Random Dungeon at level 45.

Thank you for this guide, and this reminder to everyone !

Now if only ZOS would nail this to every dungeon door, and make people adhere to it, the Undaunted festival would be one fun, happy, relaxed event !

As it is, the more social players hopefully feel heartened by it, some of those who never really thought about teamplay will be encouraged to think about it, and, most of all, new players won't be as afraid of venturing into the group adventure as they might have been before.

This is a good guide. Unfortunately, when i tried my first dungeons, on normal difficulty, i got only yelled at and nasty things, on both of them.....so while this event might bring people closer to being friendly, my past experiences are what is going to keep me away from this event.

I know there are good people out there, but i like to enjoy the game i play my way and not intrude on others gameplay.
Still, i hope you all have fun during this event, as i will have on doing my things.

Because I have the anxiety, this event in particular stresses me out. So, I am hoping to get other like minded people together to run random normal dungeons with. So far, the anxious ones are not being very accommodating to my hopes of creating a non hostile environment for folks that are worried about horrible people. But, we still have a couple days so maybe some will speak up. If not, I will probably skip it and just go solo a dungeon so I can get my tickets, but I won't get the other cosmetic stuff going that route.

If anyone is interested in trying to group, I have up to 9 characters I want to run through on PC/NA, after about 9pm-ish East Coast time. I legit don't care how good or bad you are or how much dungeon experience you have.

Rest assured, if I'm on your team, I have no particular need to sprint through a dungeon being awesome, and I always type in after every dungeon "is anyone looking for gear/quest?". There's often someone interested.

Mommadani, were I on PC I'd team up with you.

I'm a fairly new player and I want to experience some of the group dungeons but i find it hard to socialize with other people in game. I've been shunned in game multiple times by doing nothing or just asking questions. So, i wish all the players good luck with the next event. I'll be sitting some place where it is isolated from people :)

If you have to use the group-finder, how can you run solo and still get tickets? From reading the official post, seems you have to use groupfinder, thus negating solo runs.

    According to https://www.elderscrollsonline.com/en-us/news/post/54935

"Undaunted Celebration Event: November 29 – December 5

To earn Event Tickets during the Undaunted Celebration Event, you must complete a dungeon (Normal or Veteran). You will receive three Event Tickets from the final boss of the first dungeon you complete in addition to the normal rewards. You don’t have to be in a random dungeon LFG group to earn your Event Tickets!"

So you should be able to run solo and get the Event Tickets.

However, in order to get the Mysterious Reward Boxes, you have to use the Groupfinder to do your Daily Random Dungeon, since they are delievered through the mail with the premium rewards.

I'm far from the strongest player, but mMy wife and I have duoed 21 different dungeons, and I have a dual-monitor set-up to check advice for dungeons I'm unfamiliar with, so I'm also not too afraid of anything the random dungeon finder is likely to throw at us. :)

That said, there really isn't anything to worry about with PC/NA people. I think literally 10% of groups or less are ones where the personalities would bother you, and even then there's no barrier to simply typing "I'm sorry that my play isn't what you'd wish it to be; hopefully the next person will suit you better." and quickly dropping group.

My second every dungeon yesterday was OK but I did find that the leader just rushed ahead not giving much time to raid barrels etc. However I ran with the group because I wanted the experience and didn't want to lose the others through stopping and exploring the environment

I felt I held my own and contributed The healer was amazing though !

So for all those expert dungeoneers please have a little patience during this event for us dungeon newby's

Most people don't bother with mics in nRandoms. It helps if you are I'm a tougher DOC dungeon and someone just doesn't have a mechanic down yet. I see party chat (text) more than anything. Seriously though, don't worry. I run nRandoms all the time and 99% of the time it's fun and drama free. This event will bring out the worst people, but that's society for ya. Don't be scared
