Ignorance about boundaries is not a good excuse for overstepping them.
You might think it's cute. But demanding compensation for something you don't have any ownership rights to negotiate, develop, or manufacture is something better left unsaid. Some management will just roll their eyes over the lack of professionalism. But some would interpret it as infringement or exaction and could choose to pursue it as such.

I had my heart set on that dragon battleaxe.
Needless to say, I thought I was the only person to ever come up with such an idea, laid out what kind of profit they could make from their playerbase, and eagerly awaited their reply.
I'd like to think I at least made some poor ticket jockey laugh during their dull 9-5.
Fast forward a decade and a half, and I've taken desires like that and projected them into the one hobby that'll last me a lifetime. Blacksmithing, steel fabrication, and all of the secondary skills that come with it.
You never know where your desires will take you. If nobody's gonna make it, I think you might as well get started learning.
