In Brief, Thoughts on Clockwork City Event

Well it made me go to the Clockwork City. Hadn't got there yet.

Event Ticket requirement was tedious but never took too long. I did the World Boss quests. Would have been better if there were more WBs! It was repetitious, and I hated having to race around trying to gather things for the non-boss requirements, along with dozens of other players.

As a tank spec, I never got any loot from the World Bosses. I hate that only so many people get loot. I probably enabled dozens of people to get the loot drops by absorbing agro that would have killed many players. This was the biggest negative for me, even though it's not even event related.

On the other hand, the loot was pretty poor though, and I wasn't looking for anything from the bosses or the coffers. I only did one quest per day to get the event ticket. I felt no desire to farm anything in Clockwork City.

Double resource drops was a joke. I don't think I ever saw a resource node.

I am afraid my experience was fairly negative. I did it for the Event Tickets and derived zero fun from the experience. Compare this to the Witches Festival, which was super fun.
I don't think the double resource, double quest drop event really works for small zones. It works for Wrothgar, and Vvardenfell, and other places with more content.

The event never took too much of my time, so my overall rating is "meh".

CWC event was an ill-conceived gimmick to get players to either subscribe to ESO+ or purchase CWC. I'm not a very smart person, but I was wise enough not to go there during the event. I'm sure the brainiacs that planned the event knew it would be a nightmare. They're due for a high-pressure colonic irrigation, with hot oil.

Doing the same thing every 2 days was very tedious.

“Double rewards” that no one wants anyway wasnt that cool either.

Lazy template used for these “events”

And how does the free ESO+ trial that ran for more than half of the event fit into your theory?

    Oh, wait, nevermind.

Well, since you're smarter than me, I'm sure you can tease out why ZOS runs free trials on ESO+.

You just need to do one quest a day for the tickets. the apostle daily were fast especially if they were in the evergloam

Lukewarm on it. I did appreciate the double rewards to help fill out two motifs and luckily it wasn't that busy when I could log in. Saving the same dude in evergloam or reporting that the same person was STILL dead did get annoying though.

No offense, but if the event never took much time how could it be tedious?

I did the dailies once every three days and turned just one in a day.

BTW, I suggest putting together a DPS spec. Makes things like this much easier and if you even want to do some semi serious raiding the OT is sometimes asked to do DPS on some trial fights.

Why is everybody overlooking the biggest problem with the event...

...Something that ZoS overlooked leading to it being a huge failure...

...Why wasn't the spawn rate of the Skeevatoooooooons increased massively!!!!

I have 100 of these to go and kill for n achievment, but with SO many people hanging around the brass fortress it was nearly impossible!

A double drop on crap gear is useless.... MOAR SKEEVATONS!!!!! :D

My main character ended up finishing the main quest while I was there. The fact bosses only dropped if you looted before others was pretty dumb but the loot from them is meh anyway.

Idk overall I didn't mind it. I had little interest in going to cwc before the event, but turned out to enjoy the location and story of the main quest. Did the dailies (except today) with 3 characters and got lots of motifs.

I missed the last event so cwc helped me get two feathers plus 4 event tickets to start me off for the next event.

Super easy and extra rewards are always nice. Double harvesting is great. I don't see what all you folks are complaining about. It's not exactly a huge event.

I generally enjoyed the event, although the node quests were a bit annoying. During the last couple days of the event, though, I finally figured out how to battle the node-stealers. If I was at a node and couldn't loot it until I fought off some monsters, I'd stand just behind the node, so that I could see the node, and fight at the same time. Then when I was done, I'd immediately have focus and be able to loot.

But if, while I was fighting, a node-stealer would come up and stand there waiting, I simply stopped fighting. I'd let the monsters beat on me while I healed myself, and the stealer couldn't loot it either. More than once, I saw the lightbulb go off over their head & they finally ran off.

I did the WBs for the tickets and left. Farming mats in a quieter non-event zone pays off way better.

depends on your goals...if you're looking for gold, sure there are better ways, including simple crafting writs (65k/day for brief time outlay), but if you're looking for motifs, or achievements, or for the mats themselves, double of each is hard to beat...

Doing the main quest just far enough to enable the crow daily quest giver is by far the most relaxing method to do this event since accomplishing that daily quest can be done outside the confines of Clockwork City.

I knew the event was coming and had preloaded our guild bank with ornate armor and all the possible "trash" pieces dropped by mobs so that any guild members could run to the bank and pull them out if needed. The legerdemain quests require each player to do the legwork, but typically one or two runs through the two ships berthed in Daggerfall, Glenumbra will net you the required pieces with no risk of being spotted looting the owned containers.

Keep that in mind for next year kiddos.

I found it very helpful for my level 20 character. She is my first EU character and having two 5 piece sets for a little while at least until I out level it is very nice. And rolly polly velocipiraptor makes me giggle

I like this Map, I like this set of Quests
& I especially like how I'm pretty sure Sotha Sil is up to something terrible with that "Coldharbor Compact" but I want to lick him anyway! (Bad Boys, amirite? >:) )

I wish there had been something more with STORY or EXPLORATION included...
one of those kind of Achievements & if you got it during the Event you'd get a unique gift/prize.

All the people running around after the exact same stuff makes it annoying instead of amazing

The point of the event is to help people discover or rediscover the zone. CWC still is and probably always will be on of my favorite mini zones due to the story.

I quickly adjusted to just doing one daily per day. WBs. The Crow one was fine since the waves you had to kill did not require racing others for nodes. The Imperfect one's secondary quest objective was a problem - one small circle for loads of players to compete for the required 8 nodes that each needed. I'm sure the Imperfect WB daily is fine most of the time but needed a change (like the 8 plaque nodes shared as do bags of flour or crates of tomatoes share) to accommodate such a predictably large number of players doing the same thing at the same time.

I admit a bit of bias here as well as I am not a fan of the whole dwemer-steampunk thing that is CWC.

In summary, my least fave special event of the past couple years I've been playing.

Once I learned about doing the shadow cleft delve quest daily all was serene. It was instanced to me (not the delve, just the quest, so other lovely players killed a lot of the aggro that would have slowed me down getting to the two quest spots) and thus the presence of other players bothered me not in the slightest.

I capped out at 12 tickets and then rested up -- I'm not at all sure I'll manage any dungeons in the next event so I won't try to double my Indriks.

I was sad to be just edged out to a number of nodes by someone racing past me at the last second, but no big deal. If I seriously wanted to collect mats, I'd go to another zone and find far more in the same time while so many were distracted by the "double loot" thing.

i did all 4 quests on 2 characters each day. Even with the occasional node stealer i was able to complete all 4 of these quests in about 30 minutes max. So for an hour out of my day i was able to complete both motifs on my main and crafter. In addition, the coffers held a large amount of jewelry so i banked purple grains for improving jewelry too. I like CwC but don't plan on going back for a while. However, i did enjoy the event.

Since I knew about the event ahead of time, I saved all the items the crow asks for. Took me seconds to accept the daily from the crow, turn it in immediately and done!! This was the easiest and quickest event I have ever done.

It was kinda hard for me to find nodes other than smithing/jewelry in the CWC map anyway, it's the way that a lot of them were implemented that makes it difficult. But the main draw for me was the tickets so i just concentrated on that and left the rest to other people.

I found it to be an easy event for the tickets. One WB each day of the event. Only took about 5-7 minutes to clear the daily. Not sure why everyone is crying about it.

    Did not participate.

These events require more time than I can commit to on a daily basis.

I'm not 100% enthusiastic on the mount, so I'm not feeling all that much of a loss. I'm just here to have fun my way.

Dunno, i got plenty of "double" Kuta which i promptly sold and the double JC mats netted me another nice stash of purples which i also sold.

All in all, i probably made 500k gold from mats alone and i don't even play much ...
