Xbox questions, Difficulty scaling

Hi. Played this game on pc ages ago but recently switched gaming to predominantly Xbox. I fancy restarting on Xbox as I enjoyed the game apart from difficulty scaled with my character level so difficult quests couldn’t be outleveled come back to and completed more easily, is that still the case? Also how is the switch from mouse and k’board? to a controller? Also I see the game is free and also a paid for version on the store, which is the best version to start with, money isn’t a concern

Thanks

First off, what do you mean the game is free? I have the Xbox One version but play on PC more now. That said I love the controller. I can only play with a controller so even on PC I use my Xbox One controller. As for difficulties, I say it's the same since One Tamriel. Once you hit level 50 the game becomes harder at least for me.

So before I say what version to start with, I need to know what this free version is you are talking about.

The game current employs battleleveling, so your character and all quests will scale to CP 160. Since One Tamriel, its impossible to "outlevel" quests and thus conplete them easier, though you can gain better gear and skills as you play which helps.

Its not like it used to be where a level 9 boss would whup your level 9 character but at level 11 you could beat that level 9 boss into the ground. Instead, once you have decent gear, champion points, and a good DPS rotation you can beat any overland boss easily, but until you get those you might struggle.

No need to drop the keyboard/mouse as Xbox now supports both keyboard and mouse (games will have to enable that feature).

I play with Xbox controller on both, think it works really well for this game and doesn’t put you at a distinct disadvantage like it would with a shooter...

If I’m right I think it’s free as long as you have a game pass sub active. Maybe that’s what I meant with being free

Yea that’s what I remember and struggled with. Apart from that mechanic I enjoyed the game and seemed at odds to how mmo’s have gone now with being mostly solo friendly apart from raid or heroic dungeons for more hardcore players. Might still pick it up though

ESO is very solo friendly outside of the group dungeons, you can however pug all but the hardest ones in veteran mode easy.

Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

That is what I thought, but I wanted to make sure. If you are getting Game Pass, then don't buy the game. DO GET ESO+ for the craft bag and all DLC except for Summerset which they call a "story". While Morrowind is included as a DLC now you do have to buy the warden class separately if you so want to play that class.

Also from what I see if you wish to buy crowns you get them cheaper with Game Pass, so you are saving money already if you were going to get Game Pass anyways.

If you want Summerset you can get it, but wait for it's on sale. Not sure if it is still on sale or not. I just say don't buy Summerset unless it's on sale is because you have A LOT OF CONTENT to do. Summerset might become "DLC" when a new story comes out, but that is not for sure, just a guess.

So what you need to buy if you already have Game Pass is just ESO+ (you can only do it monthly.) and that is it. You are set to start playing.
