I use it on my magden healer with heavy bahraha's curse and ice staves works well to slowdown and stop enemies around, besides its complete my roleplay of volkihar vampire, freeze and then slowly drain blood from prey.

Winterborn is the only proc set I can think of that scales with the number of opponents, yeah it's a good set

How would you guys go about making an OP frost mage build? What race/class and what sets do I pair with winterborn?

Obviously use warden, as its the only class with increased cold damage, and passives that boost cold/snare and all that stuff. Permafrost is also a great ultimate as well. Race wise? Altmer and Dunmer are the only two that boost cold damage. And the sets? Iceheart, winterborn, and ysgramor's birthright are the top three for aspiring ice mages.

Only decent set I've found for my Magden. Have tried a lot of combos but so far only winterborn really seems made for an ice mage.

Anyone has difficulties to farm this set? I'm running the maelstrom Arena since 4 days and I got one lighting staff, 3 blue rings, jerking and legs.

Sadly with the rings I can't do nothing because upgrade them to purple cost me the salary of one year. The lightning staff is great but useless if I don't get a restoration staff to pairing when I Swap weapons. That means that in the end I have only 2 pieces that are not completely useful because the traits are not what I wanted.

Now I don't understand why some sets that are very powerful are so easy to obtain or even buy and some others that are not something exceptional are very difficult to obtain....

They could at least give you Points for complete the maelstrom Arena and then give you the option to buy what you want.

I recommend Icy Rage + Sellistrix + Ice Wall + Winterborn on an enemy team. It's strong in BGs...

It's also good for stopping zergs at breeches in Cyrodil. Definitely good for making people hit the rage button and ruining ball groups

But imagine if a ball group did that to their enemies...hmm....

Nah, ball groups aren't smart enough for that.

Dottz was farming it today. he didn't get much (jewellery wise). its very irritating to farm.

For my experience sellistrix has to be a set for very casual situations since it has a 10% chance to proc, it has a very low damage and it takes 1,5s to trigger the stun.

In battlegrounds everybody moves too much, roll all the time and even if they go together the people keep always some distance from each other, without say that in bgs is very usual to use the environment to always move and hide behind columns and etc.

I don't see why this set should be considered for bgs...

I forgot to mention I use it on healer...they have no choice but to come close if they want to kill my teammates. If not, I'll just keep their HP topped and spam ice reach + crushing until they change their mind. If not, then I'll have 0 deaths; we all know that is an eyesore in BGs

They will definitely come when you have no deaths and kills or top points in the match.

Sellistrix is only really good if you stack damage effects or have more than one enemy, but since I always eventually get chased or jumped I've found it useful in BGs on my templar, warden, and even stam sorc. In fact, I wonder if ZOS realizes just how strong that set really is...

EDIT: And sellistrix should still be undodgeable.
