So I got to level 10, and was thinking of maybe doing a dungeon? I am a bit intimidated though, but whats the worse that can happen?

Anyways, was wondering how dungeons work, in the sense of raid frames. Like for example if I wanted to be a healer, does the UI allow me to target a group member and then I cast a heal on them (like WoW), or do you just heal and it effects the whole group? And, using a controller, is that detrimental to being able to do a dungeon since target group members or enemies will be more difficult?

As far as healing in eso you can't heal a particular target really most if not all heals are aoe or smart heals where it'll heal the ally with the lowest health.

Just join a random dungeon and at least have healing springs. There are different healing skills. Some are AOE, some are directional (think cone) some pick the lowest or lowest two health players to heal. Some are instant heals while others heal over time. As a level 10 you shouldn't have too much trouble healing a four man dungeon, just don't forget you are the healer and you should be good.

You shouldn’t have any issues with dungeons at that level, even as the healer. If you use Group Finder, I think that the only dungeon you can get into at level 10 is Fungal Grotto, which is super easy. If you feel nervous, you can just tell your group at the start of the dungeon that you’ve never done it before, and 99% of people will go easy on you even if you make some mistakes.

As others have said, you can’t really target players for healing like you can in other MMOs, but some healing skills are aoe spells that you choose where to place, while others more or less just auto target players that are missing more health when you use them.

As for using a controller, that is 100% up to you. Many people will say that keyboard + mouse is better, but if you personally are more comfortable with a controller, then I’d suggest that’s what you use. I’ve used both and, while I dislike the console interface, I find that I can do pretty much just as well with a controller as I can with KB+M
Beware the battle cattle, but don't *fear* the battle cattle!

Well, not that I would do it, but there are a lot of peeps that will kick players just because their toons are low levels. Another thing can be that you may be in a group of other low levels, and then the dungeon actually becomes difficult and can be frustrating. If you go in with your guildmates that are willing, then you should be fine.

One tips for healing staff. Have one with relevant skills equipped then handing inn quests.
You level up weapons if equiped and skills if on bar. This makes it a bit hard leveling up healing skills while fighting monsters but quests give an pile of XP at once.

And its smart to start with dungeons early then you only get the easy ones.
Random dungeons also give lots of xp
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

Reminder for OP, first time you do a dungeon you have a quest in it. Do it for the bonus xp and skill point ;)
