What's more important, Min/Max or RP?

Argonians.. master race, ha ha. What next? Xbox the master console. Ha ha. How peeps get so into trivial things in the game. Every class and race in ESO have their own uniqueness, and all are enjoyable to play as any other. Any race and class in the right hands can be brutal.

It's not, but they are mutually exclusive. You could be neither, but you have a really hard time being both.

@xxthir13enxx , it's the other way around. Make yourself a beefy bosmer tank who (your story goes) spent whole life in gyms pumping iron, see if you can min-max him to the level of an argonian one. ^^

I play what I feel like and what I haven't touched yet. Oh, haven't rolled a Bosmer yet and I want a second AD toon? No Templar yet? Decision made! Then comes my head canon, and watching his/her personality unfold through questing.

You can do well on any stamina/magicka race, as long as you adjust your character accordingly. You can't squeeze the most game wise out of an orc magsorc, or a highelf stamblade - but you can still do well.

I have all races but Breton and Redguard among my characters. And for me, I'd easily say Nord is best for melee stam PVP (Imperial as second best), and Darkelf for magicka. Then you can of course make a Khajiit/Bosmer bow stamblade or whatever, but in general.
I build all my Nord PVP toons to take advantage out of health recovery, and both my Stamplar and Stamwarden can only be bursted down, there's really no chance to get them by DOT's (yes, pouring oil - but that's different). It takes them like 4 seconds of LOS/dodging to be back on safe health levels - without even healing.

You'll need to look at the strengths and weaknesses of a race/class, and try to override/boost what's bad/good.

Although I've mostly picked the race of my characters in a way that ensures a decent fit for the designated roles.

I stopped min/maxing many games ago. Just too frustrating redoing your build every couple of months chasing that carrot, but powerful stats are still important to me as I need my characters to not only look good, but conquer anything I throw at them as well.

The OP was specifically talking about choosing, and changing, your race. Role-players typically have a developed backstory and personality for their character and each group has on-going storylines which everyone's characters are involved in. It would be extremely difficult to do that if one or more of the characters is changing race every few months.

Imagine if part-way through a movie one of the characters went from being a cute asian chick to a huge black man who can beat the bad guy senseless. And then next time you see him he's a elderly white hippy. It would make no sense at all except in a small number of very specific storylines.
