Well, the game has 3 main roles. It seems you want to DPS. However, you must think about PvP or PvE as your objective when getting gear. They are drastically different.
Do you want to be competitive, or to just roleplay(rogue)? Do you want to play in PvE or PvP? We can start thinking about builds when you decide.
Also, Alcast's website has builds on NBs. Try checking there for some basic info.
1. What should I do for daggers for my (nightblade) rogue?
2. What 'set' items should I look for for stamina rogue (damage), whether buying, finding, undaunted pieces, or whatever? So many choices.
Yes get hurdling weapons and armor, jewelry and armor from some cheap overland set unless you can afford Briarheart who is idiotic expensive. Now you have an basic set, you can now farm more and get an monster set.Yorkie_2018 wrote: »Would agree, unless you have the cash to buy Briarheart from a guild store, the easiest to get is Hunding’s Rage as a crafted set and Spriggans from Bangkorai overland content.
Thanks for the replies, good info to look into - but can you clarify the dagger recommendation? I see '2x daggers infused' but am not sure what that is saying exactly to do. Or I also see Hungings rage set daggers recommended?

Spriggans infused daggers are very expensive, so go ahead and grab the free precise one. If you do it with a second character, you can get a second dagger. You do need the second character to be at level 50 of course.
There is a bow that you get for completing the will of the woods quest. I think it's infused, but I don't remember for sure.
If you are able to go with jewelry and weapons in spriggans, you can easily farm a second set in normal dungeons.

What are Berserker, crusher and befouled referring to?
Some said to use trait infused, others nirhorned.

Enchantments. Berserk: Increase weapon damage (Repora+Okori), Crusher: decrease target resistances (Itade+Deteri), Befouled: deal disease (Repora+Haoko). Some said to use trait infused, others nirhorned.
The difference is not that big. Nirnhoned is quite expensive, so if it suits you better, go with Infused; depending on who you listen to, either one can come out on top.
If you're crafting stuff yourself, definitely craft only CP160 gear if you are at CP160+.
Just adding to this Nirnhoned requires a potent nirncrux (can either farm it in Craglorn or buy one for around 15k), you then need to research the trait & either craft or transmute with 50 crystals. you have to do this as you cannot find nirnhoned weapons.
The DPS difference between infused and nirnhoned is minimal, this patch in particularly infused is actually slightly better so I would just stick with infused.
Poison & Beserking (increase weapon damage) glyphs are mandatory for pve stamina dps, the other glyph can be anything you choose, however I run an absorb stamina glyph which will allow you to run blue food for extra resources (including extra health).

Wouldn't you know it I'm in the middle of a research of nirnhorn now.
What are you referring to with transmute and 50 crystals, does that mean adding the trait to a weapon that doesn't have it? I think I know what crystals you're referring to, I get one for a dungeon (not sure if that's 1/day limit or unlimited).
What is the third glyph you refer to? I assume the first two, poison and berserking, are for the two weapons.
I'm at BS 9, so as I get from 40 to 50... should I make a set dagger or not? (I'll also re-read this thread for an answer).
They're all weapon enchants, poison you have on your front bar, beserking (weapon damage) on your bow bar, then the final enchant is personal preference, however I run absorb stamina enchant as it hits basically the same as the alternatives but allows you to use blue food for extra health and stamina.
Yes when you get to max blacksmithing I would craft yourself 2x hunding dagger

Thanks, still not quite clear on the enchants. If you had said the three were for each dagger and a bow, that'd make sense.
But poison is an add-on to the daggers; are you saying to enchant that somehow? Or did you just refer to the poison as an enchant? Doesn't the poison suppress the enchant on the weapon (have to determine which is better)?
I think I have one 'hunding dagger' from the quest, just use that instead of a crafted one? Should I upgrade the quality?
