What do you think of singleplayer content in ESO?

People play the easiest content in the game, with min-maxed characters, full gold gear, and then complain it's easy....

The combat is boring but I'm in it for the quest lore and dialogue, so it doesn't matter
personally id like to see longer on going stories that get updated every dlc or so. also multiple stories taking place at the same time.

most of the stories in eso are one at a time and are implemented with their ending. it would be cool to look forward to seeing stories we are involved in develop over time. like whats going on with the war? hows wrothgar? does the thieves guild want my assistance again?

I’m pretty sure Morrowind, Clockwork City and Summerset we’re treated as part 1, 2 and 3 of the same Daedric plot. So I can’t really agree with you there.

It is tedious and boring, and changes should be made to it to be more entertaining

That's a very narrow-minded view, and misses the point entirely. The point is, why should questing (and more specifically ALL questing) be the easiest content?

Why does the harder stuff have to be repetitive? ie. repeating the same trials, the same arena's over and over..?

It's not about complaining why the easiest stuff is easy - its challenging WHY that type of content is the easiest stuff.?

Questioning why it is the biggest amount of content BY FAR (which is levelled out of by only doing a quarter of it) - and why there is no variation in its difficulty (like there is with dungeons/trials)..

Not to mention that there are plenty of people who like challenging questing - so why can't they be catered for as much as the dungeoneer who gets new, challenging content every patch?

I mean, if i have the ability, then ill turn God Mode on so i can better experience the world and story. Ive played Skyrim and Half Life with God Mode enabled cause i couldnt care less about challenge.

This is a really weird sentiment for many of us, because the challenge is part of the "world and story" experience. Sure, you don't have to do everything at the highest possible difficulty, but if the world and story talk about a big bad boy and you prepare for a fight and he goes down like a wuss, it breaks immersion

Not if your damage output is piddly. Your weak attacks make the fights last longer which maintains the illusion of a strong enemy. You just don't have to worry about losing. The immersion starts to die, hard, when you keep dying. Think about it, the main character of a story isnt supposed to die unless scripted, so losing to enemies on the way breaks immersion, and im honestly not interested in the gitting gud aspect of gaming. I treat games like books and i dont want my story full of dying and restarting from checkpoint or last save. Invincibility lets me experience an uninterrupted flow of events.

Of course im not saying ESO should have a god mode, even though some peoples builds kinda are... I just prefer my story content to be enjoyable and easy, with the possible exception of Bosses. If youre going to brag about this guy being serious news, then yeah ill be a bit disappointed when my nightblade only has to use Surprise Attack and killers Blade a few times.

I can make a new character right now, walk out of the starting building and use just the three starting abilities to take down enemies in less than 5 seconds. A completely new character with absolutely no advantages like CP or gear is able to output enough enough damage to make 80% of overland enemies non-threatening.

Sure, you can actively try to gimp yourself, but the enemies are often so weak that you have to gimp yourself as low as level 5. This removes any sense of progress from the game, which is a big problem.

I love the single player content, I can quest and explore for hours. I rarely do dungeons and never do pvp so I am very happy with the content.

Its become way too easy for me and therefore only relies on storyline. Any sense of danger and adventure has long gone.

For me the result is a tedious grind which I just dont bother with anymore.

"Play how you like" doesnt factor for me as I would like the solo content to have a difficulty slider.
At least the spelling is difficult for you.

I hate that I had to pick the "boring" option for combat, because I think people's analysis of the response is going to be interpreted completely differently from what I meant.

Personally, I find the combat tedious. It's the same over and over again, but it still requires enough attention and reflexes that it dominates my consciousness. After a while, and especially with the extreme level-scaling in this game, it just begins to feel monotonous. Not too easy, necessarily (though CP has made it reasonably so for me), but very samey-same. And mob density can get annoying in places.

I enjoy the quest storylines and environments a lot-- they're probably the best in any MMO I've played and one heck of a lot better than Skyrim's. So they compensate a lot for the slogginess of combat.

All the same, I've been scaling back a lot these last few days and dropped my sub. I'm not burned out, but I am a little crispy around the edges for now.

I love the last storylines they are better than many of today's singleplayer games.

About the combat difficulty I don't ask for every mob to be able to kill me but when you meet an important enemy boss character and he dies in 3 seconds, it's kinda underwhelming. I would like them to be a challenge, like Doshia back at launch.

It's not just "fine". The single player content in this game is very playable, easily repeatable on different characters. There is a boatload of it and a player can spend a lot of time doing this content on one character. If the player is open to a variety of activities, there is enough single player content in this game to occupy a person for a long time.

Yes, even in single player, there will be other players around, but I still consider that to be single player. That is how it is in an MMO like ESO.

That is not the reason I made the post. I'm interested in what other people think. The questions in the poll reflect not only my opinion on the content but also what I thought was a lot of people's opinion. So far I've read every comment I received and, although I'm surprised by the amount of people who enjoy the stuff, I don't consider their input any less valid.
