Long waiting time when giving 'Awesome'

I wonder why when I give multiple of Awesomes in a row in the same thread, I have to wait even 10-15 seconds for a single awesome to be registered. The more awesome I give the longer the time of awaiting. Is it some weird forum protection, bad script or some incorporated lag?
