Seriously. Every time some trivial event strolls by the game becomes borderline unplayable just because a mere 50+ people stand by a World Boss (and only top 12 get loot. smartest decision ever by the way! Especially during an event. Much logic, much awestruck) or because of double loot in a zone and more people are lag-running around desperately fighting for that one node because they aren't client-side.

I stopped here because of confusion. Is it the double drop worthless gear we are interested in or double soul gems we want to add to our hundreds, if not thousands, we already have.

The real value in the double drops is motif from the quest turn in and to a lesser degree the style material for our personal inventory.

I could see if you were complaining about having to find 6 of a harvest node when many are going after the same nodes for gathering, but boss loot complain seems as small as the value of that boss loot.

Boss loot complaint goes way beyond the CWC event. Plunder Skulls are a problem during Witches Festival. Trying to get gear for a character is a problem if you end up at a dolmen with 2-3 other people, and then half way through, the army arrives and there are 50 people there. No boss drop. You can't even SEE the boss due to the special effects pounding the drop zone.

The limit they put on boss drops was a good first pass, but it is time to move on to a real solution.

    snip stuff in OP.

So if pvp is always laggy, 50% of potential game buyers will see pvp footage and use this as a valid reason not to purchase the game. The game successfully losses out on potential sales because of lag.

This is what i mean when i say lag is destroying this games current and future image.

Prospective PvE players don't base their purchasing decision on watching PvP players on Youtube. In any event, most experienced MMO players know not to look at how a game performs when zerging in PvP and expect it to be the same in solo PvE which is what most new players will be interested in.

Wouldn't it be a better decision to also keep many players as they move beyond PvE, and give them stable PvP to move into, rather than let them move on to other games because there's no good reason to stay here?

Yes, if the numbers add up.

As I don't PvP, I have no direct way of knowing how extensive the performance issues are in PvP - but I do know that forums are not representative of all players' experiences as people only tend to post if they have an issue. I suspect as a forum regular that there is a significant issue in Cyrodiil but not in Battlegrounds or dueling, and that there are comparatively few people with problems in group dungeons and trials beyond the specific issues with the Dungeon Finder tools. For those people, the problems are of course very real and game-breaking - but how extensive are they?

As for the rest of the PvE content, at the moment there is currently a handful of players complaining about performance in CWC on PC EU server, for example, yet every time I log in for an hour or so there are loads of players running around with no apparent issue and I don't have any lag or loading screen problems myself. I suspect the reason ZOS stay fairly quiet on performance issues is that their data logs and server performance stats show them that there aren't major issues beyond the usual ones that some players will always suffer from in any game, but in respect of which they're continuing to work on Cyrodiil in particular.

That's why I've suggested in another topic that people with these issues really need to be posting a lot more technical information on the appropriate Technical Support forum in order to try and identify any common denominators. While simply posting that the servers are rubbish, ZOS are rubbish, they're only interested in the Crown Store etc may make players feel better it doesn't actually help anyone. I suspect the game is running just fine for the overwhelming majority of the players, but the others need to help ZOS address their issues rather than just blaming them or walking away. As a former member of a players' technical panel on another AAA MMORPG I've seen a good many performance complaints over the years, but rarely have I seen so many that give no background information - most here don't even mention which platform they're on, let alone which server and what hardware/system software/ISP they're using, or where in the world they're playing from. How are ZOS supposed to fix anything if people don't give them full information about the nature of the problem? You can't fix complex technical issues based on vague forum posts alone.

I normally have little problem with performance. However, since Murkmire dropped, my average latency on NA is up slightly, and my average latency on EU is up significantly. I attribute this to the internet, at the moment.

What I have noticed is a marked increase in failure to get to the character selection screen. Logging out from the game, I will get completely dropped. Logging into the game, I will get dropped before arriving at the character select screen. These are the standard "unable to connect to game server" type of errors. I don't attribute this to the internet because these disconnects happen when I am heading to the character select screen, not while playing.

I have not studied and measured these, mainly because I intend to wait until ZOS has a chance to stabilize the update.

It is called teasing. The people that havnt had access to it yet, may get teased and buy it. And when the event is over, CWC will be easily playable.
