I realise that this was technically a bug fix, but I feel like it only hinders gameplay.
Before this "fix" that came with Murkmire, I believe the way it worked was that so long as your character was not in combat, you could swap out skills and quickslot consumables. However the moment your character enters combat, ie attacks or agro's something, you wouldn't be able to.
With Murkmire, if your character or group was in combat, you won't be able to swap out skills and quickslot consumables. Even if you haven't attacked anything yourself, if somebody in your group does, you can't swap anything.
I really dislike the impact that this has had on gameplay. In PVE, it makes it harder to switch skills depending on the circumstance, ie switching out a single target spammable for an AOE spammable in an AOE-heavy fight. In PVP, it means you can no longer switch out skills and quickslot items on the fly, making it that much harder to quickly slot then un-slot Rapid Maneuver to speed your horse up, swap out siege gear within your quickslot menu, or swap in a forward camp when your group needs one.
I don't necessarily think reverting this is the way it go. I mean, that would work, definitely. But I feel as if things should work in a consistent manner. You cannot go through doors, use wayshrines, or swap gear while your group is in combat, so it makes sense that you shouldn't be able to swap out skills or quickslot consumables.
What I would like to see is a slight reworking of what constitutes being in combat. Take away the group element completely, have it such that if your character enters combat, you won't be able to perform any of these actions.
What do you guys think?
