Replace treasure maps with bonus rewards after emptying a chest

What do people think of getting rid of treasure maps and replacing it with a chance for bonus gold after emptying a chest? It would eliminate the pointless and tedious riding to get rid of treasure maps. It would also give people an incentive to empty their chests and remove two large pet peeves from the game.

Treasure Maps wouldn't bother me so much if they were actual maps you could use to find treasure. What makes them annoying for me is having to go look them up. Because there is no way I'm spending hours trying to manually locate the vague scenery depicted on a treasure map.... that could take hours and it simply isn't worth it.Edited by Jeremy on November 17, 2018 6:52AM2 -

✭✭✭✭✭Considering that treasure maps are a source of set pieces and Cyrodiil motifs (and Ive also been farming treasure maps for deconnable gear for a crafting alt), I'd have to say they serve a purpose in the game.
Just because you consider them boring and useless junk does not actually make them useless.0 -

✭✭✭✭✭My treasure maps sell very quickly. Depends on the zone it’s from, but most people buy them to farm jewelry to decon. Rivenspire, Cyrodiil, Vvardenfell, they sell very quickly.Grand Master Crafter, Beta baby who grew with the game. PC/NA. @Sheezabeast if you have crafting needs!1
