Hey, we all know PUGs can be a dirty word around these parts, but I just wanted to holler out for a moment about a GREAT experience I had today.
So I'm pugging with my tank, as I do, farming vVoM. Had a fun group, good banter, self deprecating and such. Really good performance from the group. Someone asked if we all wanted to go tackle non dlc vet pledges, I had time and the group was good. Hey, who doesn't need a few more transmute crystals, amirite?
So we do Volenfell. More of the same. Efficient working together. Banter, etc. So I suggest we try vRoM which was the pledge here on PC NA Friday and I selfishly am farming Chudan as well. We get "yesses" across the board but one doesn't even know what the vRoM acronym is for. I gulp a little but trust in what I'd seen so far.
And then, magic.
The other experienced player in the group was great with explanation of mechanics. I throw in what I can but as I've only ever tanked in there my perspective is different. New players listened and picked things up. First boss was nothing. Chudan down after only a wipe or two. Feeling confident that I didn't sign us up for a two hour ordeal of spite and hubris and name calling.
And then Xal Nur happened. This is arguably the most goofy mechanic in the entire dungeon. We explained it, clarified our roles, someone started up a discord channel. Just awesome. Above and beyond. First try we took him out! So proud.
We wiped a few times on final boss but it was inconsequential. I knew we had it down at that point. Success and new game friends made.
Even got the light Chudan helm I'd been farming
