why don't they make more advertisements

youtube page is dead, even the icon on their official site that points to the youtube channel you will find an abandoned one, with the last video posted 2 years ago and that really not popular. Even if you type in youtube search bar "elder scrolls online" you won't be shown any channel or official video. Facebook has a little activity, but barely noticed.

if it wasn't for Steam to recommend me the game, i would have never found it. Even now i don't see any ESO ad anywhere, or hear nobody talk about it. On other facebook pages where people rant about wow, some people mention ESO but not positively.

As for why they don't advertise the game more widely it's probably because advertising is expensive and for a 4 year old MMO it's only going to have limited impact because the chances are the majority of people who are likely to start playing ESO already know it exists.

They often do a big advertising campaign when a new chapter (expansion) is released, so about once a year, but I doubt they consider advertising 365 days a year a good use of their funds.

i got misleaded by the youtube logo on their official site, which brought me to an abandoned channel. I didn't even know they used the Bethesda channel before you linked it here ...

whatever the Google ad system is called, they <i>love</i> trying to sell me Summerset even though i pre-ordered it.
they didn't try to sell me Morrowind until after i'd bought it either.

I got the opposite. Morrowind adverts everywhere and relatively few for Summerset.

Come to think of it I pre-ordered Morrowind and didn't get Summerset until later. Maybe the algorithm can tell what you've purchased and doesn't have any filter for items you don't need to get again.
