Yes and no.
It would suck for people who paid for it but i feel like it's a feature that should just be implemented for everyone just like how battle grounds are now open to everyone.
Maybe they should just do it right in the 1st place and not change their mind later and screw the people who paid for these features in the 1st place.
As far as what to do for the people who bought it they are kinda stuck, you already bought it the deal is done ZOS does not have to give you anything because they change their minds down the road sure it sucks but that's business.

This is just subjective, emotion appeal. Which is, indeed, moot.

It's a question to the playerbase about how we would feel if such a change was made. Just a discussion, heck maybe it could even plant the idea in ZOS that we're largely okay with this. Why are you over-analyzing this simple discussion and getting salty about it?

Don't care honestly. All my characters are EP Argonians so the whole "Any Race, Any Alliance" was literally pointless for me to start with, it just came with the collector's edition of the game when I purchased it all those years ago.

Also, we have to consider that there have been a hell of a lot of changes from Launch to present day that could sort of justify this happening. I mean, One Tamriel wasn't even a thing when ARAA was 1st conceived which eliminated the factions barrier of who you could play and group up with all together, making the whole Faction Race lock almost completely redundant and only affected PvP at that point. They could've easily made ARAA a base game feature at that point but for some reason didn't granted at the time, there really wasn't any precedence of a Crown Store feature being made into base game content. Then ZOS decided to add BGs to base game and made Morrowind and Warden as part of the Crown store, which had originally been sold all together as a Chapter, greatly devaluing Morrowind as a whole since one of the selling points of Morrowind was BGs and now it was a free feature, so now we do have precedence of ZOS altering DLCs into base game content, which could be used as justification for ARAA to become one now as well.

Again, I really don't care one way or another but I really don't see this as a bad thing. Sure, it sucks that people that bought this feature are essentially being told they "wasted" their money but the same was true with BG and Morrowind. It's not a new things with ZOS and if you aren't happy about it, well you have the option to not support ZOS. I cancelled my sub with Murkmire after being fed up with their sheer lack of quality control, the rampant number of bugs/glitches/exploits, etc. and the feeling that my money wasn't making the game any better but rather being used to program more crap for the crown store. If you're unhappy, why support a company if they continuously squander your money and loyalty?

That wasn't mentioned when people bought it. Refund the people that bought it, and from now on make it clear that ANYTHING you buy from the Crown Store, can be given away for free at any point. This isn't a mount or pet that's put in a crown crate, this is a feature/upgrade.

I'm not saying this because I don't want other people to have this feature. I'm saying this because I don't want Zenimax to get away with doing this. Did the people who bought Murkmire DLC get a refund?

I forgot there even was a race connected to faction lol. So no, it wouldn't bother me at all and I wouldn't expect compensation.

I could care less. That was a selling feature so long ago, I am not sitting around raging about someone getting that for free, when I paid for it 36 months ago, or whatever.

Most people probably don't realize it's even a thing.

If it were a choice between nerfed homogenised races or any race any alliance then no I wouldn't mind.

I would just like to see the Daggerfall Covenant remain as a region with no races who have tails but One Tamriel put an end to that anyway

I love how people are talking about refunds and stuff... like do you not know how retail works?

I paid to be able to use it for the last 4, closing in on 5, years. If people get it for free now, how does that harm me exactly?

Do you also get upset if the game you paid $60 for is on the $5 rack 5 years later?

I wouldn't mind at all, but then I got it free. I bought the game almost a year after release and happened to get sent a pre-order copy.

Although I know I'm not the only one in that situation (I don't think the game sold very well at first, I remember seeing pre-order boxes in shops for months after release) and I kind of feel like the fact that some people have gotten it free already means other people getting it free should be less of an issue because it's never actually been exclusive to people who pre-ordered or bought it from the crown store.

But then I've also always thought that it should have been part of the base game to begin with.
