What New Class Would You Like To Play

    But have you...
...been playing the game since summer 2014, and have a dozend characters already.
    ??? ;)
Because that's the thing, if I had only made five characters since then, I would not mind new classes as much. But I made fifteen, and after a dozend or so, it does get a little tedious to consider playing through it all again for new classyness... it would be different if there were classchange tokens, but the powers that be are on record saying they never want to add those, so... unless they change their mind sometime...

Played all the classes. And they are stale to me after 4.5 years of playing
And that is why I am thinking of ways that would be interesting for -both- new AND old characters.
Psijic was nice, but... I have to agree, it was a bit "meh" in the grind for it department, and not all that great anyhow (and personally I want -choices- darnit, I want people to have to pick one option out of several instead of being able to doitall on one character, so characters develop in different directions!)

On the other hand, Warden really vexed me, for exactly those reasons I mentioned... I had two "nature" themed characters before I would have made wartden if it had been available at launch, and it really annoyed me that I found myself semi-retiring the old ones (pending new backstory and character redesign once I get new character ideas) and redoing them as new wardens, playing those through content again (still working on that) and so on... and I would prefer not to have to experience such vexation again, yes? Or see others who might feel similar get vexed by a game I would prefer to see everyone enjoy so it will stay around for a long time...

Thus my ideas about class morphings... where people could add a fourth class skill line to their "basic" classes, thus "morphing" their class into a "prestige class", but would have to pick one out of several options to "specialize" in (my suggestion has three per class, but there is no reason they could not expand this to many, many more... and remember, unlike basic classes these morphs would be possible to respec, so people could play around more, which in fact might make old characters more enjoyable again!). Possibly even with added changes to the base class... at the very least palette shifts of the basic skills to look different, make the specialized sub-class visually different for more diversity and all that...

Of course, I -am- coming at this from a roleplayers perspective. I do not play a "class", I play -characters-. I like the favorite characters of mine not because their class and build gives me a advantage in play, but because of the backstry and such I dreamed up for them. One of the reasons you will never hear me whine about any nerfings... since thae set of rules that portrays the characters in-game abilities are not what I am here for, I am here for the lore and the fluff, the characters as I envision them in the game world I enjoy... so when the rules change, I just adapt and keep playing my favorite characters.
Tho it does get a little stale, sometime. Which is why I would like to see more new options. More weapons to play with, more guilds to join, and yes, something like the old "prestige classes" from D&D; a set of post-class "specialization" options for all characters.

hm, so let's check what we actually have.
    • Fire / hearth elements / poisonous : Dragonknight
    • Ice / nature : Warden
    • Electric / daedric / storm : Sorcerer
    • Night / assassin : Nightblade
    • light / aedric : templars

So, I think a class about WATER elements could be nice. I don't know, :)

I feel the warden should have got a water line and left ice to either a necromancer or just a full cryomancer line. I hate playing a class all about nature healing and animals mixed with ice and cold which generally is known to kill most life . Strange mix IMO

I really enjoyed the water line the elementalist had in GW2. The earth as well.

Also, they need to fix my magden before I can get behind a new class.

None, actually. What I would love would be ways to make classes even less restrictive. I know, it's already a great thing that any class can use any armour and any weapon, but I'd really, really be in favour of being able to use other classes' skills to a certain extent...
Well... I said it before elsewhere...
    Dual Classing
What if there was a way to expand ones characters class skills by learning a different class on top of the original one, but with some limits? Like... you only get -one- skill line from another class, and you don't get to pick either, but have it determined by the classes involved? With one skill line for each class that is main-class-specific and cannot be shared as dual-classing?

The whole thing could be dependent on finding well hidden "master trainers" (possibly even appearing in different locations at different times, a bit like the vampire/werewolf infection spawns – think "wandering sage you have to track down" shtick that’s a classic in many stories...), and then completing a special "Initiation" quest before unlocking the new skill line and changing your basic class to a new "Dual Class", with a new class name to show off, new class symbol, etc. Naturally there would be one master trainer for each class, and what combination a character would get was determined which master trainer they approach for the quest, and their original class – there could also be a way to "reset" this, much like skill morphs or vampirism/lycantropy... (although at this point, I’d expect them to make that a crown store service)

    I imagine something like:
    • Dragonknight & Siphoning (Nightblade) = Berserker
    • Dragonknight & Storm Calling (Sorceror) = Spellsword
    • Dragonknight & Dawn's Wrath (Templar) = Pyromancer
    • Dragonknight & Winters Embrace (Warden) = Guardian

    • Nightblade & Earthen Heart (Dragonknight) = Scout
    • Nightblade & Dark Magic (Sorceror) = Agent
    • Nightblade & Restoring Light (Templar) = Rogue
    • Nightblade & Animal Companion (Warden) = Ranger

    • Sorceror & Ardent Flame (Dragonknight) = Battlemage
    • Sorceror & Shadow (Nightblade) = Illusionist
    • Sorceror & Restoring Light (Templar) = Sage
    • Sorceror & Winters Embrace (Warden) = Cryomancer

    • Templar & Ardent Flame (Dragonknight) = Crusader
    • Templar & Shadow (Nightblade) = Inquisitor
    • Templar & Dark Magic (Sorceror) = Witchhunter
    • Templar & Animal Companion (Warden) = Pilgrim

    • Warden & Earthen Heart (Dragonknight) = Barbarian
    • Warden & Siphoning (Nightblade) = Cultist
    • Warden & Storm Calling (Sorceror) = Shaman
    • Warden & Dawn's Wrath (Templar) = Monk

(and yes, I keep coming back to as many of the old class names from earlier elder scrolls games as i can... ;) )
...and that is also something I would appreciate seeing (anything that is refittable to existing characters, really...), though I expect the balance issues may cause a few grey hairs... ;)

Cryomancer. Give us an ice based class since you can’t efficiently make ice staves good for much, outside a few extremely niche builds.

And here I thought Cryomancers were the people crying for nerfs of equipment and abilities because they were getting their butts kicked in Cyro.

In any case, yes, we need a mage skill line and and ice-specific line. I have Frostcaster on one my characters, and too bad it went to waste.

I would like to see an engineer type class, I don't know what you would call it but it would have things like mines (aoe traps, unlike rearming trap), deployable LOS cover maybe like a deployable steel wall. Could even experiment with stationary turrets for zone denial or mobile turrets that follow you around and attack your target.

    -Tank line by creating LOS
-Offense line through traps, turrets, maybe a molotov or something
-Healing/Support maybe by providing shields/a heal bot

Can already imagine an ultimate spawning a dwemor construct similar to how sorcerers ultimate is storm atronach

Sadly I don't think it will ever come..ZOS listens to players who likes joyful and peaceful things and those people find Necromancer too dark. And according to Gilliam no one wants Necromancer when clearly tons of people do.

Not super into the whole add more classes thing because i don't think the game should have a ton of them, but it would be very interesting and worth it if they added necromancer there is no reason why necromancer should not be a playable class you see NPCs in ESO who are necromancers and they also appear in regular elder scrolls titles as well so let us be one no reason to not be able to.
I really feel like instead of adding warden they should of added necro 1st then if they really wanted another class then warden, nothing against warden but it just would of made more sense.

Not a new class, but a new guild skill tree. For example, a necromancer guild with it's own skill tree. So that way, you can take your mage, nb, dk or whatever and give them necro abilities.

Obviously monk, which cant use weapons at all, but have united damage/ penetration from all sources (so it will compensate from lack of weapon) and so ability to cherry-pick any morphs he want from non-weapon skill lines and his own lines.
