Origin of humanity on Nirn?

Since I know the humans on Tamriel can more easily be traced back to Atmora and Yokuda and Elder Scrolls seems to embrace evolution mixed with divine intervention. Where would be the common human ancestor? "In time and place" Also since "Man & Mer" can interbreed is there a link there aswell even further in time?

On the world of Nirn, all was chaos. The only survivors of the twelve worlds of Creation were the Ehlnofey and the Hist. The Ehlnofey are the ancestors of Mer and Men. The Hist are the trees of Argonia. Nirn originally was all land, with interspersed seas, but no oceans.
