Essential Housing Tools Trigger Challenge! Calling All EHT Wizards!

Okay trigger and animation whizzos, here's a challenge for you.

In the house I am currently working on I have multiple secret doors. I would like to be able to use the Psijic Scrying Talisman to open all of the doors, but only the one I am standing in front of when I'm using the talisman. I'm certain there must be a way to do this using EHT's current tools, but my brain is friend and I feel it's time to call on my Borg Collective Hive Brain before my unit's synapses collapse. lol.

So, have any of you tried building - I guess the best phrase would be nested conditional triggers with EHT? If you were successful what is the magick spell I need?

You are all awesome! Thank you for your input.

@R_K , Cardinal, tagging you just in case this is not doable I want to add it to your wish list! :)<3o:)

    Oh, just to share where my progress was before I had to stop for the night;

I currently have three small area triggers set up called Activate One/Two/Three for simplicity.

When I enter any of the the three Activate area triggers, hidden switches are turned on. I'm calling the switches Activators One/Two/Three.

The next step I'm trying to work out would be a conditional that in my head goes something like this (let's say that I'm in the Activate One trigger area for example); "If I use the Psijic Scrying Talisman, and Activator 1 is on, then queue animation to open Door One. Because Activators Two and Three should be off, the respective animation to open those doors should not fire.

    So...and...then my brain melted. LOL.

Oh dear Goddess someone help me or at least tell me it's not doable so I can stop trying. :persevere: HAHA

Okay! I've had sleep and can make with the smart writings now! LOL.

Sooo...what I'm looking for is a way to create IF AND statements with EHT. Example; "IF character is in trigger area One AND IF character uses Psijic Scrying Talisman THEN open Secret Door One.

@mayasunrising Hi Maya! I just saw this question and wanted to post an example of the Trigger that I think you are asking for. Here, I've set up a Trigger that has 2 conditions:

    1. That I use a specific Collectible (in this case, I just used a different one since I do not have the Scrying Talisman); and,
    2. That someone is in a specific spot (in your case, this would be in front of the Door in question (Door 1, 2 or 3)).

Using this set up, I believe that you can accomplish what you wanted with 3 Triggers such as this one. (One for each Door)

Let me know if I misunderstood your question or, if not, if you have any additional questions

Thanks @R_K . I actually got them to work like 5 minutes after I saw you added the second condition! I actually wooped out loud. LOL. The new triggers work flawlessly! Thank you so much for adding the second condition! <3

Ok first I'd just like to say the addon has blown me away with just how cool it is, and I didn't know it existed until I saw this thread a few days ago. @R_K , it's really awesome.

The two condition triggers with an area circle (pressure plate) in the floor are spot on with activating one animation at a time, while using the same second condition for everything.

I set up an Ice Wraith that haunts my house at different intervals if a certain candle is turned off -AND- someone in my group stands on certain spots on the floor. The candle is just a subtle change that people hardly notice and the wraith doesn't become a nuissance the other 95% of the time when it isn't supposed to be floating around the room.

I use candles for many of my "toggles" too. =) But I usually bury them in the floor so I don't have to worry about anyone seeing them. Or if they are the toggle for a secret door I'll put them inside the hidden room so my visitors just think they are part of the rooms decor. We loves being sneaksie!

@Bladerunner1 @mayasunrising Haha, that is so awesome to hear from both of you! I'm super happy that you're finding the new Trigger functionality to be useful. Plus, it makes me smile when I see people using it in creative ways - like with the candle as a sort of "memory" for the state of your animations. That's exactly what I was hoping people would start to do to make even more complex automation.

Also, for what it's worth, I'll just say this with regard to the "management of state" for your set up: consider checking out some of the tri-state items, such as the Blue Flame Brazier. By having 3 different states, you can set up even more complex triggers, should the need arise. ...and that's all I will say on that.

Keep up the awesome work! <3

Thanks Cardinal! I made a short video to demonstrate using the single memento for opening multiple doors. And I'll definitely check out the blue flame braziers! I had no idea they had three states. WOOP!

@mayasunrising Wow... this is truly such a great, great use of the new, multi-conditional triggers in EHT. A huge thank you for showing what you can do with just a few triggers -- and in such a beautiful setting. Thank you... this is absolutely wonderful. <3
