Im pretty much over this @ZOS_GinaBruno, why was the 'can not mount after combat' time extended?.. Im waiting literally 3 mins before i can mount, im a magika toon so i cant run fast, so in pursuit of an enemy with the scroll or chasing etc, i may as well just give up, they are long gone once i get on my horse and even with 60 speed there is no catching them, you have to head back to a keep, port, deal with the load screen, get back on your horse chase ... and lets not even mention how I can have not had any combat at all but someone in my group did, but i cant mount because why?... REASONS??? .. why are the rest of the group punished because one group member gets hit?... pvp is so broken.. maybe the devs should come down and play some magika toons in pvp for a while and see what their decisions are doing to ruin the game play

    Before Murkmire if you avoided taking damage for short bit you could change out skills. With Murkmire Zos changes that.
    Fixed an issue where you could add or remove abilities on your ability bar while you were in combat.

    In implementing this they chose to ignore the well known in combat bug and enhance it for good measure. We can also end up in combat even when we are not near any player or NPC and not grouped. Essentially, just a random in combat occurrence.

    Yes, it sucks but this is the type of things we have dealt with for over 4 years.

    ^ This. The in combat bug is awful, but they refuse to do anything about it or acknowledge it.

    It's not only mounting. This bug accures more often now and it's absolutelly random. You can stuck in combat for 5 mnts, you cannot mount, use shrines, change skills, read your mail. The only option is to find any hostile fauna and renew your status and than exit it by killing or suiciding. "Running from keep" sometimes helps but not everytime.

    the in combat inability to swap quickslot items is BS also... now, when you run out of siege, and have to slot something else.. guess what ....YOU CANT!!!!!!!! ... at least before you had a fraction of a second where you could, if you timed it right, slot new siege after one lot ran out.... what a load of absolute horse poo.. we had an hour long defence seige at alessia yesterday, you know what we ended up having to do..... run to the farm and wait a full minute to be able to swap out siege, then hope to what ever pvp god there is that we didnt get ganked running back to the keep... i mean come on..that is so ridiculous that its ridiculous

    I spent 4 minutes waiting on the combat bug tonight. I left the area of combat and didn't attack anyone. I was trying to swap out Undo after it glitched into a weird yoyo like effect.

    I fought at Roe, disenganged (Roe fight ended shortly after), walked from Roe to Fare, from Fare back to Roe, and from Roe to Alessia participating in the defense there and only after the fighting at Alessia was over I finally got out of combat!

    There was no fighting in between the original engagement at Roe and the defense at Alessia. This "Fixing of an issue where you could add or remove abilities on your ability bar while you were in combat" seems a little bit excessive!

    I ran from fargyl to roe completely alone, "in combat ".

    It's how they promote bgs. Make it unbearable to play cyro. Between inability to mount and the new destructible milemarkers, cyro had slowed to a snail's pace.

    I once sneaked with eye fully closed half way to the next keep until the "in combat" status cleared. It was ridiculous, with no NPC or players near me.

    The other day I was fighting between warden and glade, then went running towards the scroll. I couldn't mount till I got to Ash.

    I was in combat for nearly 30 minutes 2 nights ago after engaging in combat with the "Animosity" guild.

    I didn't die, and since they never died but were in combat with neverending waves of pugs at Carmela the game simply wouldn't release me from combat until I logged out.

    I think that's part of the problem. If you engage someone who then remain in combat after either escaping or whatever, you remain in combat for as long as they do. And if it's a group you are then perma-tethered to each individual in that group and their status of in-combat.

    It just blows. Please @ZOS_GinaBruno , let us know that the team is aware and is investigating this issue. You guys managed to fix it rather well about a year ago, please look over the issue again.

    It's not just using your mount, if you want to add items to your quickslot, or change a skill, you have to wait till it's over. Needless to say it makes sieging and general combat in Cyrodiil very frustrating... It would be great to know if this issue is at least being aknowledged.

    this combat timer is completely broken. ive had to run to each keep because I cant mount ( on a nightblade, we all know temps and wardens haven't been able to mount forever) you cant change skills or equip pots if someone in ur group is in combat. fix something for onces.

    Yeah. A post saying zenimax acknowledges this bug and is working on it shouldn't be a big task. That way we atleast anticipate the fix. I do understand that fixing this bug would take a major design change for ESO PvP combat and would be hard. But for the interim, we could use a workaround fix like getting out of combat once you are x meters away from the enemy. It works in similar way in PvE.

    Only I don't think it would be a major design change like you say. It was nearly eliminated a year ago.

    It would probably take some hard work though. Work that is well spent in my opinion.

    Of all the many issues with this game this may be the worst for me right now. It is absurd how long I get stuck in combat. I can travel from keep to keep at this point without being able to mount. It also seems to be worse for templars as my group can consistently mount sooner than me and I am the only templar in our squad.

    why is it so hard for Zos to fix these issues that have persisted for years?

    im not joking i came back a little over a month ago and this 'feature' has made me completely stop playing. It is not fun when it happens to you and u have to crash your game 3 times in 1 night to get out of combat because of some wierd tethering mechanic or rng mechanic that decides to keep randomly putting you in combat over and over.

    This is an example of what myself and others in this thread are complaining about @ZOS_GinaBruno
    Under siege and defending, and have chewed through the siege I had slotted, now Im unable to swap to the siege I do have left, so how do i defend? yes you guessed it, im relegated to light and heavy attacking and taking other peoples siege, eventually as this siege lasted over an hour, everyone in my group ran out of slotted siege and had nothing to defend with, we couldnt buy more because the siege merchant was dead... wtaf are we supposed to do.... this needs to be fixed ASAP

    i honestly, honestly, do not understand why i should not be able to swap out my skills or inventory during combat. if i am desperate enough, or stupid (depending on the circumstances) enough, to do it.

    is this a problem in that the system cannot handle players accessing inventory in combat? i just cannot see a good reason for such a constricting rule.

    It’s very dualistic. With one hand they want you to get skillfull, tactical, use your brain, while the other hand removes the tactics regarding what Skill to equip and when to use it.

    And what a sad world of war ESO is when no soldier in your 24 man squadron can mount their horses to ride to a group members aid if attacked. Be it a Wolf or a Player.

    Honestly this is the most annoying thing for me this patch. This pisses me off even more consistently than the ping spikes and random load screen issues we got with Murkmire.
