If ashes of creation delivers, eso will be left in the dust, and rightly so, the devs are lazy, they do what is barely necessary, but never take the step forward to make things really damn good, examples are like the extremely lazy "fix" for warden class passive.
Also, they have the tendency of making complete 180 when balancing, and make very rushed decisions.
I agree that ESO is an enjoyable game and not having a ton of time to spend on games right now I haven't really looked at what's upcoming. If Ashes of Creation can deliver on most of things it's promised I also think ESO will be left in the dust despite all of it's lore that I find amazing. The Class specialization that reminds me of Titan Quest, player choices and interactions with the world having meaningful impact, fluid economy. All these things sound like they are overreaching for a MMO.
I do agree that on some things, the devs of ashes seem to be indeed overreaching, but i honestly doubt that it will flop, the devs always interact with the community and deliver updates, have a stake in the company, because they personally put money into this, they genuinely seem to care, so either they are extremely good liars, or they really care.
I don;t know if they can keep all their promises, some of the things they said seem, really difficult, if not impossible to implement, but even if they don't deliver on all of them, the game could still be really amazing, better than any other mmo on the market.

I wasn't trying to infer that it will flop. Just that some of the things I've always really wanted in any MMO don't seem like they'll be able to be implemented as well as the developers would like.
As I recall, in Titan Quest the 36 different classes(since there was no difference in primary and secondary masteries) were neat, but some combos were outclassed by others. It's been awhile so I may be misremembering.
Having player choices affect the world is a really great idea, I'm just worried that as the game continues new players won't really be able to affect it, or it will be too easily influenced by a group of trolls.
A fluid economy where supply and demand by region can affect prices would be amazing. And, as far as I've read, with no fast travel, it should be more possible than in ESO.
So, Ashes looks like a game to keep my eye on while I hope that ZoS will turn it around and make ESO more fun again.
Fed up with the game. Don't even care about the free dlc reward (yet i still lurk the forums) Got a ps4 and rdr2. I guess you joined eso in it's end cycle. Prepare to play an empty game in a year once AoC hits the stores.
Why are you here then? Why do people who despise the game they're supposed to be playing so much to the point where they'll try to drag other players down.
were here because for some foolish reason we hope zos will fix things and chance their *** balancing practices and goals because while we hate zos, at some point we liked eso alot and want to enjoy it again.
I spend a lot of time on this game. Too much, in fact. But that's not a problem when it feels like fun. The last month did not feel that way at all.

Soon as i get the money rdr2 and black ops 4 are calling my name. well see how things go in update 21
Haha, i did the same. Checked out WoW but i didn't get far. I got as afar as stranglethorn and then i got a few quests:
Kill 10 young tigers
kill 10 adult tigers
Kill the boss tiger (which i already did during the young quest)
kill 10 young panthers
kill 10 adult panthers
kill the boss panther
kill 10 raptors
kill 10 something raports
Hang yourself
And i immediatly uninstalled the game.
I am pretty sure the main story is good. But the quests make me puke.
Anyway, there is no game i currently look forward to except Cyberpunk. RDR2 looks great but i don't want to play on PS4. I wanted to try Fallout76 but i read cheating will be so easy in that game and lockpick cheats already exist so i skip that one,
eh, im still holding out for the main story. I choose horde and sylvannas's story looks alot better than anything ive seen from eso. Like actual character development, whens the last time you saw that if ever in eso, or repeating characters for that matter. The introduction to wow though does seem very slow.
cyperpunk cant get here fast enough for me, cdpr is the last game company i have faith in. Fallout 76 looks like a buggy empty mess, which after other online games from bethesda..... I cant say im surprised about. Im giving 76 a hard pass. I checked out black ops 4 with my friends with couch coop and honestly its one of the better cods lately. Im excited to sink some hours into zombies. I heard kingdom come deliverance has seen steady improvement since its launch and its probably cheap used, might check out that. But at least right now RDR2 is what im focused on when the bills are paid lol
Only checking out wow rn because the first 20 lvls are free
Character development with Sylvanas? She does the same thing since Wrath of the Lich King... trying to kill everybody and raise them as forsaken.
More than that...looks like another Horde civil war. Already had one in MoP with Garrosh Hellscream. Story and character development? Not really...we have seen this before, and Sylvanas has been going down this road since the beginning. It's completely opposite of development. Sylvanas hasn't changed and the story (horde side) is a rehash with a different leader.
This is why I quit in Legion. WoW is awful.
still, se has a back story from what ive heard (new to wow) going from the defender of her people to pawn of the lick king to taking him town to queen of the undead and now warchief or the horde. There have been 0 things like that.
eso, make zone 1 like the queen, make zone 2 like the queen.
morrowind: be vivecs helper
1 want to see more repeating characters with eso and more complex plots then, oh deadric princes are causing trouble, lets save the world..... again.....
There are plenty of repeating characters. How far have you gotten?
all of ad's quests, all of morrowind, cwc, wrothgar, and most of summerset
only one ive seen repeat is raz
So you missed every returning character from the Pact and Covenant storylines.

Yeah same as previous 5 or 6 pretendants to "ESO killer" role failed to do that and when ESO gained numbers those games are now lurking in the shadows before being closed. Ashes of Creation will fail to take ESO position on market since ESO is too strong currently to be killed of by one title without strong franchise behind it especially that Ashes of Creation doesnt even look that good when it comes to gameplay.
Murkmire is kinda meh DLC. ESO like every MMO game have ups and downs.
New doc release and everything seems completely dead,I remember clockwork city being so crowded after that release I waited a week before going back lol, summerset still crowded but not as bad,now with murkmire release most guilds I am in are down to 19 out of 499 players (today)and there is no one in sight.

A least in WoW's quests you have to find the tigers. You grab a quest in ESO and follow the carrot to the objective. It's pretty mindless here too.

I don’t know about this thread. Some of this seems like hyperbole. I can critique something I love, no issues there. It’s just in this thread... There are some blanket statements in this thread that are kind of absolutist. I know if I quote the specifics and respond I’ll be accused of “white knighting” Zos.
I’ve only been playing 2 years and from the changes I’ve seen, Zos does care about its players. They do care about the game. They are putting in way too much effort for these kinds of accusations. Sure, they make giant mistakes no question, AND it eventually comes around again and gets fixed. Look at Templars and Repentance. Giant dumb mistake to take away corpse sharing in Morrowind, now they brought it back. Take a look at Battlegrounds being for only those who bought Morrowind as a chapter. I pre-ordered that and I still thought it was a dumb idea to limit the population. I wasn’t surprised at all when they opened it up.
There’s a lot of bureaucracy and paper shuffling (and I bet some ego soothing) that takes place before things get reverted or changed. Try talking to any artist about their work and we can get pretty defensive. There’s a lot more that goes into producing this than most people can fathom.
Idk, leave if you want to, send me your stuff etc etc. I just don’t see the apocalyptic vision of the game this thread has.

What I know for certain is that the people in this thread are those that are bothering to still lurk,..for a bit longer...There are untold others that just left.
