I was 540cp Stam Sorc - Just switched before the new DLC. No recommended vMA gear, just Hundings and Briarheart with Velidroth. Typical PVE skills with crit surge. Vigor swapped in for bound on 2nd bar.
Friday - I told a friend I'm going to clear vMA tomorrow after not ever doing it.
Saturday 7am - I woke up with some pain that sent me to the doctor because I couldn't breathe without it hurting unless I was sitting up straight with perfect posture and taking small breaths. The lab machines were all down so they said no tests could happen until the following week.
Saturday 11am - Since I couldn't sit in any way other than full upright posture to breathe I moved my laptop to the kitchen table. I said I was going to complete it and I meant it.
My thoughts: I've always been a good gamer, I used to be a pro gamer back in the days, I've been part of world firsts in raiding, etc. Surely I can beat this without issue.
- Ok this is actually pretty challenging.
- wtf just 1 shot me??
- Maybe I'm getting bad now that I'm getting older.
- Ok I just suck. I'm remarkably awful at games now.
- Maybe I should wait until 810 cp. Nah I'm dying to being bad not a CP level. The armor would help though... No. I'm still making mistakes so I'll just get better.
- I had that one!! ...but RNG on that damn mushroom in the blue circle... Whatever suck it up try again. At least I can tell my ESO skill has improved just from these 8 short hours.
- Final round. Rocky 1 Theme song - "Gonna fly now". I will play all night to finish this.
11 hours after starting, still sitting upright at the kitchen table I prevailed.
I actually had a feeling of accomplishment. While there were things that I could've done to make it easier (farm a different armor set, get to 810 cp), I knew I was the one really making the mistakes with exception of RNG and a couple of bugs. My gameplay has certainly improved across the board - peripheral observation of everything, mechanic reflexes, respecting how quickly something can wreck your world if you're lazy and don't pay it proper attention, etc.
In the end I know this helped me to be a much better ESO gamer. I can already tell in various dungeons, trials, etc. As frustrating as it may be for some, you should complete it. It'll help you come out a better, more knowledgeable player, in the end.
