Trinimac's Valor Bugged?

I have been using Trinimac's Valor to begin a shielding healer spec but I quested for two hours and the set did not proc a single time off my igneous shield, shield from my armor buff or resto staff shield. I even spammed igneous until out of magic and still no proc. I repeated this several times. At 20% it should proc 1 out of 5 times that I do a shield but its not. Help?

✭✭I tried it on a tank build back when it first came out, but the chance was based on the cast of the shield ability and not the number of allies that I shielded so I gave up on it as being too weak of a set.
It's a shame though because the idea behind it wasn't bad, but it didn't proc enough to be worth while.Playing since beta...0 -

It can proc when casting a shield on yourself, I've had it happen. But the proc rate is very underwhelming. I combined it with Combat Physician and Iceheart for a fun setup but it wouldn't proc at all. Got it to proc with Dampen Magic but that wasn't what I had in mind so banked it.0 -

Erraln✭✭✭✭✭In the past, it worked when you cast upon yourself. If they changed it for this to no longer happen, it doesn't matter much. It was never an effective gear choice.0 -

The tooltip indicates you have to cast it on an ally. And, I don’t remember it ever working on self-buffed shields or procced shields.
Which is why the set is underwhelming indeed ... given there are so few damage shields that work on allies and the radius is super tiny.
Not much reward for the time it takes to farm this set. It needs a buff.

✭✭Its not a good set, even for dk healers for which on paper it sounds like a perfect match. The proc is just slow and infrequent. And it only triggers on a single target at a time. Honestly imo go with naga shaman + spc/olorime for pve.

I tried pairing Combat Physician with Trinimac, hoping the shield from Physician would proc the heal from Trinimac (it doesn't BTW). Combat Physician says "a friendly target", which includes yourself; Trinimac's Valor says "an ally", which does not include yourself.0 -

✭✭It procs when shielding own pets, as an example if wanna play solo: sorc using hardened ward procs it all the time, especially if you got 2 pets out.
Tested with dk, was underwhelming so never went to actual use after that test, sadly.0 -

Wasn't able to check the ingame wording of Combat Physician, was at work. But I can guarantee you that shielding yourself with Dampen Magic from the light armor skill line will proc Trinimac's.
Edit: just tried and was unable to proc Trinimac's with Dampen Magic. I'm sure I got it to proc while solo but now not sure how I did that...Edited by Everstorm on November 9, 2018 4:52PM0 -

✭✭✭ZOS would need to increase the proc to 50%, increase the potency of the proc by 50% as well as reduce the delay in which the proc pops to give its heal/damages (the delay all but destroys any use it has), have it purge 1 negative effect from allies it heals and reduce the CD to 3 second. Even with all that though, the set wouldn't be all that great but at least it would be useable.Argonian forever0
