What's the point of reordering your characters if the order doesn't save?

Reordered my characters. Closed application. Everything was reset back to how it was.
Replicated it again by reordering characters, backing out (Pressing Circle on PS4) and logging back into the megaserver. Everything was reset back to how it was.

✭✭What is the point anyway? If you play enough you know where each one is. Even if you re-order them I can pretty much guarantee most people will have to search even after ordering them.1
