How much DPS does zaan do and how much skoria?

✭✭✭✭✭IMO, you should carry both at all times unless you are certain you only plan to be in melee. The 1.5k difference assumes your nose is on the boss/dummy. In more mobile fights, skoria can easily come out ahead. The other thing is that Skoria helps the health bar a bit. A glass cannon in Zaan and witchmothers, has very low health, frankly too low for a good chunk of the playerbase.

So...what exactly is the difference in replacing a magicka or spell crit set piece with health, as opposed to a magicka enchantment with health?

I find that with Zaan I can be just outside of melee range. But Skoria you can be true range. As far as the health, I just do a health enchant on one piece of equipment. In the end I do carry both.0
