Haha, i did the same. Checked out WoW but i didn't get far. I got as afar as stranglethorn and then i got a few quests:
Kill 10 young tigers
kill 10 adult tigers
Kill the boss tiger (which i already did during the young quest)
kill 10 young panthers
kill 10 adult panthers
kill the boss panther
kill 10 raptors
kill 10 something raports
Hang yourself
And i immediatly uninstalled the game.
I am pretty sure the main story is good. But the quests make me puke.
Anyway, there is no game i currently look forward to except Cyberpunk. RDR2 looks great but i don't want to play on PS4. I wanted to try Fallout76 but i read cheating will be so easy in that game and lockpick cheats already exist so i skip that one,
eh, im still holding out for the main story. I choose horde and sylvannas's story looks alot better than anything ive seen from eso. Like actual character development, whens the last time you saw that if ever in eso, or repeating characters for that matter. The introduction to wow though does seem very slow.
cyperpunk cant get here fast enough for me, cdpr is the last game company i have faith in. Fallout 76 looks like a buggy empty mess, which after other online games from bethesda..... I cant say im surprised about. Im giving 76 a hard pass. I checked out black ops 4 with my friends with couch coop and honestly its one of the better cods lately. Im excited to sink some hours into zombies. I heard kingdom come deliverance has seen steady improvement since its launch and its probably cheap used, might check out that. But at least right now RDR2 is what im focused on when the bills are paid lol
Only checking out wow rn because the first 20 lvls are free
Character development with Sylvanas? She does the same thing since Wrath of the Lich King... trying to kill everybody and raise them as forsaken.
More than that...looks like another Horde civil war. Already had one in MoP with Garrosh Hellscream. Story and character development? Not really...we have seen this before, and Sylvanas has been going down this road since the beginning. It's completely opposite of development. Sylvanas hasn't changed and the story (horde side) is a rehash with a different leader.
This is why I quit in Legion. WoW is awful.
still, se has a back story from what ive heard (new to wow) going from the defender of her people to pawn of the lick king to taking him town to queen of the undead and now warchief or the horde. There have been 0 things like that.

Fed up with the game. Don't even care about the free dlc reward (yet i still lurk the forums) Got a ps4 and rdr2. I guess you joined eso in it's end cycle. Prepare to play an empty game in a year once AoC hits the stores.
Why are you here then? Why do people who despise the game they're supposed to be playing so much to the point where they'll try to drag other players down.
were here because for some foolish reason we hope zos will fix things and chance their *** balancing practices and goals because while we hate zos, at some point we liked eso alot and want to enjoy it again.
I like your optimism.

There are plenty of repeating characters. How far have you gotten?
Eso always has ups and downs. It was same last year after halloween . People buy bunch of games because they were on discounts so they play them instead of eso, but at mid november - december, loads of people come back and population spikes back up.
New doc release and everything seems completely dead,I remember clockwork city being so crowded after that release I waited a week before going back lol, summerset still crowded but not as bad,now with murkmire release most guilds I am in are down to 19 out of 499 players (today)and there is no one in sight.

This sentence perfectly sums up why I don't agree with everyone shitting on ZOS head. Yes, the game has many flaws. Yes, a thoughtful complain has it's place. Yes, other games might do better vs the flaws and bugs. But very few of them also offer the absolutely humongous number of things to do ESO offers, with thousands of hours of replayability worth.
WoW may have fewer bugs (idk, never played), but if it was so damn good, people would be overthere, playing the game, instead of crying in here that their class got nerfed.
RDR2 seems absolutely amazing, but the 60 hours you are talking about has me a little worried. And for having played GTA5 online for a little while, I don't give so much hope for this other Rockstar online mode. I hope I'm wrong.
Try to be a little grateful for what you have instead of being entitled to have everything. Each game has it's forces and flaws. If you feel other games are so much better, go play them. I'll bet you a beer that you'll come back in 60 hours.
Sorry for the rant. I'm getting tired of all this salt.
Eso is an enjoyable game, but not a good game, if wow gets better i will go back to in in a heartbeat, and ashes is looking very promising.
If ashes of creation delivers, eso will be left in the dust, and rightly so, the devs are lazy, they do what is barely necessary, but never take the step forward to make things really damn good, examples are like the extremely lazy "fix" for warden class passive.
Also, they have the tendency of making complete 180 when balancing, and make very rushed decisions.

You only needed to do one thing on one character per day to get an event ticket. Not much of a grind.

I agree that ESO is an enjoyable game and not having a ton of time to spend on games right now I haven't really looked at what's upcoming. If Ashes of Creation can deliver on most of things it's promised I also think ESO will be left in the dust despite all of it's lore that I find amazing. The Class specialization that reminds me of Titan Quest, player choices and interactions with the world having meaningful impact, fluid economy. All these things sound like they are overreaching for a MMO.

Well considering that RDR2 online is coming in next 3 weeks that is utter nonsense you are saying. I will bet real money that RDR2 will sweep the current state of ESO back and forth 100-0. Yes, it will have some bugs but that is what you expect from that just launched. Considering that ESO has been active for some years and the amount of bugs and senseless nerfs is just beyond joke to be honest.
Than again again RDR2 single player did not have any noticecable bugs and run smoothly. I guarantee that online will be just as awesome as single player. Maybe ZoS should take long look at their product.
You can rant all you want but the fact is that the hiatus is for real at ESO. The sooner you and especially the developers wake up from day dreaming the sooner the game might have hope. As for the moment is getting bad... I just log for writs and even that is getting harder day by day.
When I look my friends list 85% are awol from ESO and these people spent +5h per day playing this product until they simply got fed up. When I look at the guild lists I can see 60-70% decrease of the active players. These are the people that spend tons on crowns, played and defended this product throughs Morrowinds etc.
I told this when the 1st nerfmire patch notes hit forums.. yes.. absolutely horrific stuff. Considering the bonus that they have pretty much broken trials atm among tons of other bugs.. it all adds up.
So you might be tired of salt but if you want to have this product operational you might think that are all these people wrong? Do the game actually need these people to stay profitable? ...I would say yes but than again each of our own.
I have been grateful for years through tons of crap but enough is enough. There is always a limit and by all means lets not be salty.. lets all be grateful about these bugs and senseless nerfs... what do really think that will result to?
Why I'am even here and that propably your legit question. I still have some attachment to the product since spend tons of hours playing it and have tiny hope that ZoS will actually wake up and do something actually sensible.
Do I think that they will? ... to be honest day by day less and so does many others. This is way diffrent hiatus than previous years exodus. These people are not coming back unless major improvements (performance, fix bugs etc) and sensible balance actions are done.
Reading this maybe we both salty just for diffrent reasons.....
