Murkmire Inquiry.

Question for ZOS & the community: If people decide to spend crowns on Murkmire, How will the buyers be compensated upon logging in for 24 consecutive days on the Sun’s Dusk Reward Calendar?

Because a thought just occurred to me that, if somebody purchases murkmire through the crown store, they may not be properly rewarded in some manner through the long run should they successfully log in for 24 consecutive days. It is quite perplexing and I am sure a lot of you know it too. I thought of an idea that, if somebody purchases murkmire with crowns, they could be rewarded on the 24th day with a type of crown compensation or at least some sort of stipend to help encourage those who went out of the fundamental way to buy murkmire with crowns.

That is all.
If you see me anywhere. Know that I am sitting back with a bag of popcorn, watching as ESO burns the goodwill of its player base with practices that only disrespects the players time like it did to me and many others...

If a game does not respect your time, best thing to do is move on from it and find something else.

It is a bit weird that people who went ahead and bought it get no reward of any sort on that day, yes. It would definitely make sense to me for them to receive some sort of alternative reward.

If you buy it or have ESO+ your "compensation" is 24 (PC) or 19 (console) days of early access. There is not going to be any alternative login reward for people who do not want or already have Murkmire, just like there haven't been any alternatives for previous login rewards people didn't want or couldn't use.

If you're not happy with that and not an ESO+ subscriber the solution is simply not to buy Murkmire and wait until the 24th.

If you are a subscriber then you don't really have any good options - cancel it for a month or join the ranks of those who say they subscribe only for the craft bag/other benefits and not for the DLC.

For what it's worth I agree that this is a bad deal for anyone who subscribes or who bought the DLC before checking the login rewards/reading the various announcements that Murkmire would be given away free. But I'm not sure if it's even possible for them to offer a choice - they never have before so it may be that would require a re-design of the system. And I think even with an announcement that it was a one-off for an exceptional circumstance it would lead to a lot of people demanding that we get choices on more of the login rewards - especially since most of them are crown food/potions/poison which a lot of players have no use for. (Although common sense suggests the choice there would be between those 3 - so if you don't want crown store potions you can have food instead, not a better/rarer item.)

I'm one of those who intentionally did buy murkmire (the collector's edition) despite having eso+ and knowing that they would be giving us the dlc as a daily login this month. My purpose was simple. Between them, the mount and pet available with the collector's edition cost the same separately as they do with the edition, so, for me, murkmire was free...I'm just paying for the mount/pet. It doesn't bother me that they're giving it away, and I rather understand their logic. They also made the information available about it being a reward in the daily rewards long before it became available to purchase, so people could, in fact, make this decision intelligently (if they bother to keep up with the information on the website). I don't consider that I need extra compensation. It's just how it is. Besides, I'll be getting both free stuff and discounted stuff this month due to ESO+ membership, so that's going to be worth it.
