I was struggling with login issues. You were probably just farming skyshards or the delve achievement. It could've been a match made in heaven. Alas, as in all romcoms, miscommunication happened.
I came online just by the entrance of Haynote Cave. There was an enemy too close for comfort so I shot it with an arrow. Out of habit. Thoughtlessly.
It wasn't a NPC.
It was you.
You, probably still stuck in the loading screen of the zone change.
I panicked. I mean, I had just started a fight with a player. I was doomed to be destroyed, I'm a PVE player. So I just kept hitting hoping the problem would just go away.
By the time I saw your name it was too late. We could've been friends, in another time, in another place, but Cyrodil is at war.
Meanwhile the game's kicked me out again and I can't log back in GDI

@ OP - honestly - don't worry about it. Pretty much everyone in a PVP zone expects to die - especially if they're AFK etc.. There is no death penalty - you just respawn.. Anyone who PVP's is ok with this, and used to it happening multiple times per session.
The only problem tends to come when someone not used to the PVP mindset gets attacked, and gets salty over it...
The attacker is never the guy in the wrong - because that's the whole point of a PVP zone. The only 'wrong' is when enemies don't attack each other. Have fun
