Single target dot effects no longer proc enchants, the cheese gets toned down - nice!

From the new patch notes:

Weapon Enchantments and poisons will no longer proc from single-target Damage over Time effects of any weapon ability. The following effects can no longer proc Weapon Enchantments or poisons:
The Damage over Time from Cleave and its morphs
The Damage over Time from Twin Slashes and its morphs
All damage from Lacerate and its morphs
The residual Damage over Time from Toxic Barrage
The Damage over Time from Acid Spray
The Damage over Time from Poison Arrow and its morphs
The Damage over Time from Destructive Touch and its morphs

Thanks for these changes this fast. :)

Nice not having to spend 3 months on current pvp situation that was sad.

    I'm wondering if the BiS in PvE - which was 2 infused weapons - will change with this.

    As for PvP, I'm glad. I refused to use cheap Torug's set and I'll stick to my build that wasn't touched.

    It pretty sure will change, the DPS loss when goin on your backbar seems to be quiet a chunck

    You will still have 2 frontbar enchants, but the Infused trait wont be Worth it anymore IMO.
    But before some testing is done I wont make a guess which traits are going to be BIS now.

    In the Run are Infused / precise and Nirnhoned

    No but pointed out because I'm sure they intentionally patched it a while ago to specifically stop it proccing enchants from the back-bar... seems odd that it was left this time.

    thought about that aswell, but you'd have to unslot something to get bladecloack in, and the DMG of cloack has been nerfed back in the days, and I doubt that unslotting Rending would be viable.

    I can think of warden's swarm\fetcher infection, sorcerer's liquid lightning etc etc

    Ah okay. With how often ZOS changes what skill is considered what damage type I wouldn't be surprised if it isn't even counted as a dot anymore but single instances of direct aoe. Just kidding. But I don't know why they left that out. Maybe because they really just want to single out st dots, maybe because it only procs every 3 seconds or probably it's just an oversight.

    Class skill have never proc'ed enchants, only weapon skills and light/heavy attacks proc enchants (and poisons).

    Those can't proc enchants. Only weapon skills and light/heavy attacks can.

    as i know they were warned about this during pts. they should have rid of this before it goes live so there is nothing to thank them for

    well its widely known that ZOS doenst listen to the PLayerbase when they report something to be broken on PTS, after after it went live, they nerf it into oblivion.

    During PTS they may could have found a middleground but now Singletarget DOT of WEAPON sikills have been nerfed nearly useless. Weaponskills and light 7 heavyattacks are the only way to proc enchants, and zos just stripped all DOTs from that aspect...kinda too overkill IMO

    Often these things have taken months, so being positively surprised and thankful is the feeling i got right now as an active pvp player. Forum can be used for thanks and positive comments too you know. ;)

    They implemented something that everyone warned them would be too OP and ruin the game but hey! They removed it 2 weeks later as everyone expected them to, thanks ZOS!

    Honestly I am not too happy about it because I just invested 120k+ gold to make a enchant meta build and ZOS nerfs it to hell before I can some fun. I am not a serious PvPer, and I actually find this build useful when soloing hard PVE content because I just need to drop loads of dots on enemies and then focus on survival. And now it’s gone, all thanks to ZOS.

    I mean, if you gonna nerf this imbalance so fast, why bother making it on live in the first place? People already complained about it on pts long time ago. I am glad I didn’t re-trait my nirnhorned weapon to infuse so I won’t waste 50 crystals. I can make 120k gold in two days but all these constant steep changes just bring so much frustration.

    Yep, my first suggestion after Murkmire was exactly that, so that it would have been implemented like that on Battle Spirit so only affects pvp. But i think they did not wanted it like that, i guess they saw things changed way too much at pve too as they said it increased damage "more than they intended without effort".

    they could have just made some adjustments towards DW, maybe that you cant stack the same traits on frontbars ^^
    or that only 1 enchant get buffed by teh CP's...there would have been ways

    Wise decision...I've heard that once you use crutches like that, you can't stand on your own anymore. The result? Everyone else gets way stronger in relation when the crutches are gone...

    I'm actually glad that they left it alone for a while, now my reaction speed will be even faster :D I should thank those guys that used the enchants like that for training me :D

    This. So it does not affect things so much for pve, things are pretty much like before Murkmire. So can use aoe dots to proc enchants + weaving lights. So things are like they were on the normal pve rotation before Murkmire.
