Let treasure maps stack like surveys!

I recently got my crafter to lvl 50 so I decided it was time to call in the +100 surveys I stashed for max return. I didn't realize that I could carry surveys in a stack, harvest the nodes, walk away, turn around and harvest the nodes again, rinse repeat until the stack is gone. I actually dumped duplicates in the bank and did a LOT of logging/running back until a guildie told me about stacking. Considering the hassle of getting to some of those spots, why can't the same trick work with treasure maps?

In before "buy the bank assistant," which I can't afford yet, the other maps already stack. It should be doable, unless the respawn for "dirt mound" works differently...

I searched the forums before considering making a similar post and found this to be the most recent thread of its kind amongst many.

When I see that many requests from players to make a game change dating back 4 years and still making the request today it makes me think the game developers....

    1. believe it to be a game/economy breaking change
    2. are unable to make the change due to a technical reason
    3. are out of touch with their players and are not making the change because they simply dont want to.

I prefer to think its more likely reasons 1 or 2 as these companies typically hire people to monitor the community forums and report back such requests to the devs.

I don't really understand how either reasons 1 or 2 could be viable in this scenario. I have never gotten so many maps that I believe it would be economy breaking and survey mechanics already demonstrate this is an alternate way of handling maps.

There are numerous threads of discussion where players have called treasure maps "worthless", "annoying", "waste of time", etc and asking for them to be made viable. I have tried moving away from spawn points on treasure maps when I do have duplicates of them (bag/bank) and it doesnt work. In order to respawn the node, I have only found logging out and back in to work. I think a good many of us realize the additional load this places, unnecessarily on the login servers, and wastes players time as well.

I think the game is a bit more enjoyable without all the logging in and out players are being pushed to as a general rule. If there is a real reason this change has been considered and not being made it would be nice if @ZOS_GinaBruno would let us know.

They do respawn if you leave the line of sight. Usually what I do is put my duplicates in a mail and have someone return it to me. Get the chest from the map in my bag, run away, pull the duplicate from my inbox, run back, repeat as needed. Just a hint.

Thanks, I will try again. Not finding the right distance, perhaps LOS is the key.

I tried using LOS which did not seem to work. Distance does work but the distance was a good deal away (went a little ways, came back and checked, little further, came back, rinse and repeat.) That distance (depending on mobs and terrain) is not always easier than just logging out and back in, which takes time and immersion away from the game.

Thanks for the heads up, I will use it where it seems to make sense and hope a change is made by the devs.

Eso need have option to handle maps (and surveys too) like shipment or box - no need travel if you don't want - big time savings for crafters and if you like travel you still can

Even allowing for a smaller stack of 5 would be an improvement.

Keeping it to a limited stack would maintain the economy, in fact may improve it as people would be more likely to see them as a viable bank space taker.

The survey stack so I would think that maps would be very similar.

Unfortunately your third point is closer to the mark then you think. From many of the changes, asked for improvements and ignored issues found all over this forum. The preponderance of evidence has mounted up to say THEY ARE OUT OF TOUCH and UNWILLING TO CHANGE.

Frankly, I wouldn't be sad if they got rid of treasure maps entirely and instead subbed in more furniture patterns or something else.

Because leveling is so easy and fast now, those treasure maps are far less useful than they used to be. Get rid of the maps, shorten the RNG tables they're in, and upgrade the drops in random chests. That's my vote for change. :)

Well... that or replace treasure maps with furniture mat node maps--but that's an entirely different ball of wax.

I don't care if they stack but I sure wish once in a while something good was in one.
