I think there should be an option in the crown store where you can purchase the craft bag with crowns. Then again, I'm sure they know most people, like myself, buy ESO+ solely for the craft bag, so I doubt they'd ever make it available through the crown store; they would probably lose a fair amount of money.

My friends that don't play the game think it's stupid how I have to ESO+ if I want to be a crafter... and I kind of agree. But, I still pay for my subscription just about every month. The extra housing/bank space is good too, though I could probably deal without them.

Your friends fail to understand how valuable to bag is.

That crafting bag is insanely valuable to ZOS. Much more valuable to ZOS than it is to the players, I would hazard to say. That means that any Crown price that ZOS placed on the bag would be equally insane in size. From the perspective of the players.

Your friends, when they saw how much it cost, would probably see ESO Plus as a good deal.

That Crafting Bag would easily be the most expensive thing in the Crown Store, mainly to help prevent ESO Plus people from jumping ship. If they do jump ship, the cost needs to help recover the lost revenue. ESO Plus is a solid steady revenue stream that attracts more than half of the players.

Is that this time of the year again? Shouldn't we be beating "auction house" dead horse now?

Someone tried to do that already. Pay attention!

Never. You either sub to support the game or you play without a craft bag. Period.

base game gives you 8 character slots, each slot can have 200 inventory=1600 inventory=lots of storage for mats. Lots of Mats you collect do not need to be saved-like iron ore or iron ingots. I never make anything below Rubedite, Rubedo,or Ruby Ash so why keep them if you don't have craft bag.

Sounds good to me. I'd still sub anyway regardless. I'm just imagining how much nicer it will be out overland if node/chest farmers had enough inventory space so they didn't have to cherry-pick contents.

Ah, beautiful, wonderful, never-happening dreams... *wistful sigh*

If the cherry pickers are not subbing, then I seriously doubt that they will spend the inordinate amount of crowns that a craft bag would cost to make it feasible for ZoS...

There are 2 times a year ESO plus is free, take advantage of these times to unload inventory into craftbag. Purchase ESO plus for one month in between these times and you can manage fine

At a minimum of two threads per year, it isn't possible to answer this question without knowing how many more years ESO will be around. I suppose we can ball park it at something more than 6, but less than... 20?

They would be doing this regardless. Their time is more precious than everyone's else. Why would they bother to change ;).

A fair, sad, and probably all too true point. All the same, it's a nice dream :D Don't wake me up!

This. I've managed crafting & harvesting without being subbed for over a year now. I was subbed the first 2-3 months I played the game, then dropped it.

Yes, it takes a bit of work. But that's how all these things are - Convenience vs Work. Either pay for convenience, or put more effort in.

(I craft things out of the massive amounts of stuff in my craft bag. I harvest stuff & do writs into my bank, and onto a single mule when the bank gets multiple full stacks of a particular raw mat. And I do crafting surveys & refine materials when there's a Free ESO+ weekend, thereby refilling my craft bag & emptying my banks/inventories. The only thing I've stopped picking up during the times in between is regular provisioning stuff. Which I have 1k+ of each in the craft bag already.)

edit: I also do my house decorating during Free ESO+ week. ;)

I would love to have crafting bag for crowns. I think ZOS would be idiots to make it available for crows though because people like me would never sub again. The sub is way more expensive than outright buying things unless you price the crafting bag at like 30k crowns. For those voting yes, how many are willing to pay 30k crowns for the crafting bag?

Another reason they might not ever do that is the ability to trade gold for crowns will cause an even more rapid decrease in subs. I definitely would start trading gold for crowns in that situation. I am already sitting on 10k+ crowns with nothing left worth buying. Yet I will sub again in the future, giving me even more useless crowns, because I'm not going to actively play this game without the craft bag.

I find the idea that selling the crafting bag is an insult to people subbing absurd at this point in time. If they didn't learn from the introduction of chapters that the value of the sub can change drastically at any time, they will never learn. If the craft bag was ever in the crown store, it would be the most expensive item ever put in the crown store. It would cost more than a year of subbing.

You can buy storage chests from the crown store, bank space with gold or crowns, pack space, and even mount carrying capacity. They even gave you a free room to put the chests and a house if you did the summerset quest. The craft bag is going to stay a perk to eso+ because I doubt they are going to nerf the money they are making from the magical endless bag of happiness. :*

Nah.. First of all why would they ever do this? It's the primary reason to pay for ESO+ and it's a very good reason. Since returning to ESO after a 2.5 year hiatus I have had to reset my expectations of the game since they were majorly shifted around the time the cash shop was released.

I preferred the game (and the devs tbh) when it was sub only so now I'm pretending the game is still a sub game and just paying for ESO+ (and trying to ignore most of the cash shop). The crafting bag makes ESO+ worth it and it also generates tears for all the people who want the game to be B2P/F2P and buy into this cash shop nonsense that I hate so much. It's because of all the cash shop pop up windows and advertisements that it's so hard to ignore the cash shop so any tears about ESO+ is just a bonus to my sub!

i have been on eso+ sub for 2 years and will sub til the servers shut down.

BUT.... in some alternate universe, i see me buying the craftbag for 100K crowns, and then cancelling my sub, and then being relieved from all the stress of doing random dungeons because i would never ever see a dlc dungeon again!
IMO the stress free dungeon play would be worth 100K crowns for those of us that can only do PUGs.

I think it is stupid how people think games that have ongoing costs, such as MMOs, should be free. I really think it is stupid that these same people usually want an insane wage for being a cashier at the dollar store or some other low skill job.

That $15 a month keeps the lights on. That craft bag probably keeps a third to half of subs paying that sub fee. Some people craft without the craft bag. It is extremely inefficient though. In most developed counties $15 is one nights dinner.

The thing is...if they decided to make this a purchasable option in the crown store, it would probably end up being a lot like bank space & bag space upgrades. It will be 1000 crowns for 10 more slots and aint nobody got time for that!

I am actually not surprised that this topics start to appear more and more often. Especially after Summerset introduced jewellery crafting and a ton of new crafting materials. This is rather simple.
Currently if you want to do daily crafting quest on multiple characters - you can because if you use your bank space to keep crafting materials you will have something like 236 / 240 slots occupied by crafting mats (that is if you will keep only one stack of top tier crafting mats and one stack of motive style materials without the basic 10 racial styles). In short - a couple of new updates and bank space won't be enough just to do basic stuff. So now wonder people ask for some way to be able to keep more crafting materials.

I think in this situation simply increasing max bank space cap further would be best solution. And it is a Win - Win situation as ESO+ gets double bank space.

There were loyalty rewards. Then with One Tamriel the loyalty rewards ended. ESO Plus started.

From early release to One Tamriel there was no craftbag. Those players, including myself, who were crafters, found ways to deal with it. I made alts, had two main crafters; one had smithing/woodworking/clothing and the second one had provisioning/alchemy/enchanting and when out questing neither one picked up mats or items that didn't "belong" to their areas. I did a lot of inventory shuffle, especially before I maxed account wide bank space and individual character inventory space. Guildmates and friends had mail with overflow items sent to them so they could bounce it back so I could distribute it to my alts and bank. It is possible to survive without the craftbag. Not necessarily the most fun, but definitely possible.

I had the exact same setup. I have one character with max smith/cloth/wood/provisioning and another with alch/enchant/provisioning. I had multiple alt mules that held different types of stuff and used addons like bank manager to push/pull certain type of mats to/from the bank and my bags. After questing or harvesting I would use the bank and the addon would push items not meant for that character to my bank then when I logged on mules and hit the bank it would pull items they were meant to store into their bags.

It definitely took some effort to set up and was heavily addon dependent but it worked. No reason why people without ESO+ can't do the same. I used to go through all that when everyone had to pay a sub so it's definitely a nice perk for ESO+ and not the least bit unfair for people who don't sub considering us early adopters dealt with it *and* paid a sub.

If you had bothered doing a search, this has been discussed a zillion times before and the result is usually the same. If you want the craft bag, subscribe. It’s as easy as that. ZOS knows full well that for the majority of us, we subscribe just for the craft bag itself. You honestly believe they would eliminate that cash cow? One thing they could do to make the craft bag more enticing is to add crafted furniture to the bag. I hate using my normal inventory for furniture items :)

Maybe two different crafting bags. The one now available for ESO+ and one available in crown store only. The crown store bag would only be able to hold one stack of each crafting item so if you wish to horde ESO+ would be the way to go.

I could see them making it buyable, but it would be for "limited time only" and costing 120$ because their marketing peeps don't know how a flash sale works. xD

On the otherhand they could make it buyable for 20$ and just add something new and flashy to replace it... like free wayshrines or free mount training or something free that otherwise wastes a lot of time and gold but is necessary.
