Magicka has more incentive to stack magicka due to all the magic multipliers. Major Sorcery offers less DPS for a mage stacking the primary resource. They already have free major prophecy from inner light in most meta builds. And they have access to a single target DOT/heal that provides major Sorcery.
..are stamina and magicka still balanced without the above three factors as part of the equation?
- So, you're saying that stamina do have better items than magicka (Relequen > Siroria and vma bow > vma staff)
But stamina is also FAR over what magicka can achieve in DPS.
- And now stamina has more survivability than magicka.
- Potions; What the heck? Everyone that optimizes for DPS is using potions with major buffs attached. Saying that weapon power potions gives more than spell power potions.... 20% dmg + Major critt buff. How can one be stronger than the other? (Or is it that SOME magicka got a class skill that provides the Major Sorcery buff? Well, it's a DPS loss to use those abilities)
- Staminas are also the kings of PvP
Stamina has been the kings of DPS since Morrowind.
And kings of survivability since Nerfmire.
And people still come on the forums complaining that magicka is stronger? eeeeeeeh........?Cleared Trials:

✭✭✭✭✭Agreed, nerf it and make stamina naturally powerful rather than being reliant on gimmicks.
Hardly a gimmick as it is merely a set bonus. Most that would complain about this would still have issues with PvE DPS even if they had the bow. Just as OP falsely overstated the DPS this bow adds, most have low dps because of their actions, not their sets.3 -

Dont rain on other peoples parade. If you cant beat vma, you have no business in vet trials anyways. There is a reason semi serious to serious guilds require maelstrom weapons and some good dps because it usually shows the player cares about dps and awareness and willing to get better
Dont think the bow is gonna make or break anything huge, the player is more important than the silly weapon3 -

✭✭✭✭✭For single target DPS the vMA bow and Master Bow are very close to each other. But as soon as any AoE aspect comes into the picture the vMA bow becomes significantly stronger. I personally feel the vMA gives a bit too much free DPS for basically doing nothing but throwing down endless hail.
If you compare to the vMA destro staff, you need to have a good weaving with light attacks to benefit from the weapon. I´ve flawless on all my characters but my two wardens (who I never did vMA with in the first place) and I still think the vMA bow is a bit overtuned in its current state.

✭✭@Qbiken , depends on perspective. To see much benefit from arena weapons you have to be at the point where you're weaving very well anyway. And with strengths, come weaknesses: try using Endless Hail in newer trials where everything instantly jumps/walks/teleports from under 5-meter tiny circle. More so that damage is ramping up towards the end of the AoE's duration. And with vMA destro, you reapply much larger AoE and keep weaving LAs that are easily retargetable each GCD.
In fact, that's what I see as one of biggest stamina problems in new content - mobility of damage. Too much of it comes from a ground AoE that loses effectiveness too often.2 -

✭✭✭✭It has been nerfed already once, with the weapon damage stat being removed after they changed the special effect from an enchant to a set bonus - I don't remember which patch exactly, probably CWC. IMO they should give Master and Maelstrom weapons stat bonuses back, albeit at a reduced value, in line with other sets, to bring them in line with 4/5p bonuses of 5p sets, especially after the Summerset changes, that made 2H weapons count as 2 pieces. For example the Maelstrom bow used to have 189 weapon damage as extra bonus. They should give it back 129 weapon damage, which is the standard value for 5p sets. Also I don't see the point of nerfing something that's used in PvE - one should be particularly unskilled to get killed by Endless Hail in PvP - since you aren't directly competing against other players, and, with the power creep from CP, running Maelstrom for a bow or staff has become increasingly easy.Beta tester since February 2014, played ESO-TU October 2015 - August 2022, currently on an extended break

✭✭✭This item is for over performing and makes or breaks stamina classes. It's overwhelming power in PvE needs reduced significantly. No other single item makes a significant difference (upwards of 5k-10k dps difference) for stamina like the Maelstrom bow.
Hmmm, someone died. An since they can't get the weapon themselves, they decide to make a buff thread for themselves, lol.
