Arctic Blast Interactions: Reflect, Block, Dodge Roll.

recorded a little video of the interactions for this dumpster fire of a skill.

TL:DW:
Dodge Roll: Dodged.
Block: Blocked.
Reflect: Stunned (Bug?).

For those who don't know, this skill costs an absurd amount, fires a very slow non damaging projectile that has no unique effects attached to it. The tank heal that the skill provides, barely heals it's intended audience (Magden). ZOS removed the damage that had around a 30% chance to proc chilled, this made it a good tank tool and was beloved and used by many a tankden. However the skill no longer does this damage and now requires a target to be used. Polar Wind (which is its other morph) can be used without a target and heals the same amount while also healing an ally. This stun is NOT good and you should under no circumstance use it if given the opportunity. There are better alternatives for a heal on a Magden such as Living Trellis, and a better alternative for a stun, being Destructive Touch or even Invigorating Drain(Vampire). even Frost Touch is better as it deals damage and activates destruction staff passives while only providing an immobilise which many consider inferior to a stun. The ONLY benefit to using this skill would be to use it against a Dragonknight in a duel if they have Reflective Scales, even then, this is very specific and it may be a bug that ZOS fixes next patch.

welcome to the universal meta This skill is from the new and improved homogeneous class abilities line. They have not yet given all players this useless skill but there are variations of it that have been around a while.

But no. This skill is so bad I'd rather get *** by a wings spamming DK than have this dumpster fire of a skill on my bar. I hope you're proud of your work, ZOS.

The real lol for me is the 2.5 second cast time animation. How do they think that this could even be remotely useful in a burst combo rotation. Gives players plenty of time to dodge, block, or run halfway across the map by the time the animation finishes and then slowly flies towards them.

I know a good fix.

Make it 5/6s, deal AoE ice dmg and if it does 3 ticks unblocked, it then stuns. Remove it off permafrost and reduce the cost. Overall warden comes out better.

Or instead of creating too much extra work for them, we can add old blast to arctic wind and polar inherits it. Then remove the tank heal and replace it with a mag and spell dmg scaling version of old blasts damage.

Sometimes I get the impression that the combat engine is at fault, and it means an idea for an ability gets gutted royally from conception to implementation.
