Console version of Murkmire??

Okay. I've asked within multiple other threads covering specific topics and have yet to receive any type of response confirming, denying, or even providing wild conjecture, so I figured I'd post my own discussion.

Will the Murkmire version being released to console next week include all the recent incremental patch changes to enchantment procs, sorcerer pets' overland damage, et al?

Thanks in advance.

Edit: I could wait for Natch Potes, but where's the fun in that?!

Zos will not reply to this thread. They announced the launch date for consoles 6 weeks ago and again recently in the news page for the website. They tend to not repeat themselves especially when the information is so readily available. Link below.

You will get it next week. 11/6

In the event someone replies or thinks I have somehow been harsh pointing out Zos has already made this announcement, it is merely pointing out this information, and similar for future releases, is readily available at this late time on the website. I figure it is better to teach someone how to fish than to provide one simple meal.

    @idk

Perhaps my question was a little unclear, but thank you for providing pertinent information.

I know when consoles are getting the patch.

I know what the news release said, I read it. Several times.

I know what the PTS patch notes said for every step of Murkmire along the way.

I know what the PC live version patch notes said last week when it dropped on PC.

Now, overlooking your slightly pretentious response, I also know what the patch notes say for the very recent incremental patch PC received within the last few days.

My simple question is whether or not console users will be getting the release day version of Murkmire that PC got, or the incrementally patched version. If your link or other, as you put it, readily available information answers that for me, please do me a solid and direct me to it. Or quote it yourself and save my hungry, non-angling self the work.

That isn't even remotely what OP was asking. They want to know if, when it releases next week, the patch will include the fixes that have been made to PC or if it will it be broken?

Personally, I'd be inclined to say it'll be the original broken PC version and that we'll have to wait for the fixes.

The patches for console games need to go through certification, so I doubt the incremental patches will be included, since cert takes a few weeks usually.

Zos has spoken to the amended question OP has provided as well. The answer is a possible maybe. Link provided below.

@ZOS_JessicaFolsom may be able to shed more light on it if that information is readily available to her. She handled discussion progress on this issue.

Amended question? It was in the original, unedited, first post. All you had to do is read past the first sentence to see it.

Based on that link it's unlikely they'll be able to say anything else. They've submitted it to Microsoft and Sony for testing - if it passes the certification process (which all updates, even small ones, have to go through) then it will be in the initial release, if it doesn't then it won't because they'll have to change whatever the issues are and resubmit it. Until they get a response from Sony and Microsoft ZOS won't be able to say which it is.

But I'd be surprised if it didn't pass certification. The purpose of that process is to make sure that the update isn't doing anything the console manufacturers don't allow or which could damage the console or interfere with other software (in other words making sure it's not a virus) and to make sure it doesn't introduce any game breaking bugs. Genuinely game-breaking, not "they nerfed 1 skill and now my class is unplayable!" I mean ones that cause the game to crash or permanently block progress or delete your character. Both of those are highly unlikely so the update will almost certainly pass. But no one can say for sure until it's gone through the process.

This. Most content updates go through verification before going to the end user, which takes weeks. The only way we can get any fixes is if theyre in the form of hotfixes which i think are immediate.

Nope. We're getting exactly the same patch that PC players got when it was first released.

I'm planning on just focusing on farming new gear and questing and taking a break from PvP until week 3 or 4.

How about you stop thinking and assuming on how Zos operates?
