I was in vet dungeon yesterday, was doing 70% of the damage, and stayed around 29k output most of the time (not exceptional, but decent for a templar), and the other dps was doing about 15%. At the end of the dungeon, the tank says, "No offense guys, but you two dps need to get better. Your damage sucked." Then immediately ungrouped and ported.
You have to have thick skin in a PUG. Just the way it is.

You get people who are looking for confrontation. It's why I would never dream of pugging and have forged a game clan where we all play different games together. Good opportunity for people to learn, especially when English is a global language.
I take most games to the 1% but I don't tolerate the elitist attitude very well (kapow you got kicked!)
Did you come across as elitist? Hardly. Has the other person thought of confirming what you meant? trying a response other than flying off the handle at his/her own misinterpretation? No. Because they are an ass. Brush it off and move along.

✭Joined a vet Spindleclutch I for the pledge today. After the 1st couple of pulls i see things are dying really fast and i'm only doing anywhere between 30-39%(remained that way throughout the whole run) of the dps so i typed "Feels good to not have to do 70% of the dps for once". Obviously that's a compliment to the others 2 dps, but then the other guy says "I hope your potl is good". After the 1st spider boss which has like 800k hp and died in less than 10 secs, the dude claims my potl uptime was only 50% and proceeds to post his dps log after every boss, he was doing 3-10k more than me.
Anyways after the dungeon is done the guy sends me a tell "70% right? More like 10%". I just ignored him because honestly i don't tolerate any sort of drama and toxicity especially when it comes to pve content. In pvp a bit of trash talking is understandable.
How exactly did i offend this dude?
This is why I am content with Consoles not having Mod Support. As much as I would like to be able to track my DoTs and Stacks via timers, and be able to dive deeper into my DPS read outs, your encounter is the other edge of the blade which makes it worth not having it.PS4-NA. That's like getting into a hardcore match of bumper bowling or hop scotch, except it's 1 frame of bumper bowling and like 2 steps of hop scotch because Spindle bosses die so fast.0

✭How I see it:
Two special snowflakes have met in that dungeon. One of them said something in his usual elitist's manner. Another one had feeling that he's better than the first one (because every special snowflake is better than any other special snowflake, obviously), so he has to show the first one how bad this guy performs comparing to reel leet dudes.
Just be a bit simplier. Say "Wow, dps is awesome!", get response like "Sure. Ya lucky to be here with me and u have to be thankfull for that." You only can laugh at such guys. Laugh and ignore.One of the two of us definitely has gone mad. It only remains to define whether this one is the whole world or just me.
