Uncracked Transmutation gems

Why cant we deposit the uncracked transmutation geodes in our banks? I have 200 transmutation stones already and I keep getting more geodes from BG daily that I cant open. I plan on using them one day but its annoying that they take up my limited inventory space until I need them (BG character is new and doesnt have a tone of inv space like my main). I feel like these should be bankable what do you think?

Not really lol I grinded all my gear before transmutation stones were a thing lol. I think the only things Ive ever transmuted were monster helms and shoulders that I had collected. Ill probably use a bunch of these to transmute more helm/shoulders until I start collecting new gear. I imagine Ill need them for when I go after my relequin and berserking warrior sets but havent had time to track them down yet. Maybe I should be less lazy and just use them up but Im not sure what to change atm lol.

@RABIDxWOLVERINE Got it. Was just having some fun, either way. And to throw in my 2 cents, don't bother transmuting regular/non-perfect Relequen. You can easily get those in divines these days with groups. Save it to change the Berserking Warrior/AY jewelry to bloodthirsty (from robust), or when you snag an AY dagger. Those things seem to only drop in defending.

I was so excited to get my dagger of VO then I quit for a bit came back and VO wasnt the best to have anymore lol I was so disappointed now the grind begins again and I dont want to start lol I guess I need to suck it up and just do it. Im so out of practice Im not sure I can even play in a regular trial anymore so perfect relequin is out of reach atm @El_Borracho

I do think they should be stackable items, the uncracked geodes, no reason really for them not to be.

It's stupid that they're not stackable. Your inventory fills up with them and then you have to guesstimate how many you might need in the future, so you destroy as many as you think you won't need.

Then on top of it, the dailies you get from PvP, will produce between 4-25 of them, so you don't know how much each one of those will hold.

Doesn't make sense that you can't stack them.

Here is how i successfully manage it, and i don't have ESO +
I keep the campaign gold geodes(50 stones) in my mail. Use them only when changing all my build.
I use just the small geodes to fill my 100 stack.
When I reach 100 stones i store the small geodes while inventory holds.
When it is impossible to store the geodes anymore I transmute the weapons of good sets to nirnhorned, as this trait cannot be found in open world and the probability that i'll need this trait on the weapon is very high.
Transmuting one item allows me to consume ~10 more small geodes from my inventory.
If all weapons are transmuted consider transmuting good PVP armor pieces to impen as this is the most useful trait in PVP and big PVE armor parts to infused as that's the most optimal trait for PVE.
If there is nothing left to transmute and you have plenty of campaign geodes then just consider deleting all small geodes.

They arent stackable or bankable because ZOS intends them to be used as a last resort to address your sucky rng after you've run the content again and again and cant get the trait you want.

ZOS doesn't intend for you to store away bunches and bunches of transmute stones so you can transmute whole sets the first day of a new release or whatever, and instead you have to keep grinding to accumulate new stones when you actually need them.

Depends on what gear you use and how fast you obtain it and transmute stones. I obtain like 200 stones plus a month. But dont need to transmute 4 pieces a month. Id rather have gold to be honest at least that is useful.

Preaching to the choir. It feels like the day I obtained that second VO dagger, AY became the new BiS. Rumor is Murkmire is going to make the axe/dagger significantly less effective than dagger/dagger for DW. So time to grind for that second AY dagger! Oddly, its easier to get gold AY jewelry than one AY dagger. I guess that's a good thing.

Don't get me wrong, VO is still very effective. But that AY stuff is noticeably better.

Frustrating for sure. Had 200 as well as 24 unopened on one character. Raise the cap to 400 at least.

I think the mechanical reason that geodes don’t stack is because they aren’t a normal item, they are a container.

I don’t know of any container in the game that stacks... reward coffers and daily quest reward containers do not stack.
All I can think of is maybe Pyandonean bottles from fishing? I don’t remember if they stack or not.

But yeah, I’d love to be able to bank my geodes. I transmute a lot of gear, but also use daily battlegrounds to help level my characters. Since I’ve got several characters I’m leveling, the amount of geodes I get quickly outpaces my getting drops that I need to transmute.

Agree. I don't know why transmute crystals have a cap. Be like having a cap on gold. What does it matter to ZOS if someone has a million of them. You can't trade or sell them

Why is there even a limit? That's my real question, I mean why? Do we NEED an arbitrary 200 restriction? Would the game blow up without it?

Some choices made by the devteam are difficult to comprehend.

i agree, how do you not transmute when meta changes that seems so odd to me, maybe cause i gotta support 6 dps toons but dam i never have enough.

I absolutely hate artificial caps on currency. They added these things to content (rather than making them buyable) to encourage us to take part in it, then don't actually let us have the thing we earned doing what they wanted us to do!

I get their reasoning, I just think it doesn't work. Anybody who really wants to stockpile them still can, it just takes a bit of unnecessary inconvenience.

That could be it I really only have gear for 1 PVE character and 1 PVP character. Im in the process of training a few alts but I only have 3 max lvl characters and I have several sets for my PVE character so I can use them on my others if needed. I was thinking about changing my PVP warden to a PVE warden and changing making my PVP DK my main PVP toon. Not sure though since I only get a handful of hours to play per week so I cant spend my time grinding gear atm Im more focused on leveling.
