Buying Crowns f.t.w.

I think Zenimax made a big mistake to allow selling crowns vs. gold. What you once had to work hard for and be proud to achieve, you can now get in no time at all. And the worst is that big crownseller can and do dominate the ingame economics. They buyout trading spots by bidding enormous sums normal guilds can't afford and function as pricemaker. At least an upper limit for the number of crowns a single player can sell should be introduced. I think it should be limited to 6000 crowns per month.

The bidding system is not working too well anyway, so don't confuse the symptoms with the cause of the metaphorical disease.
We need more traders that are actually viable, then this war wouldn't be so dirty with crown sellers, bots, espionage and poaching of sellers.

You know where min 80% of all gold from crown sales is used? Right, housing! Lower your housing receipes prices and we sell less crowns ;)

You might be right but this is a very smal number I guess. Because most people I know who sell crowns and did it more than once, used them for housing legendary trader, housing guild store items for legendary in the past and horrible expensive blue prints.

    Cheers

Some guilds have been buying out the best trading spots by bidding far more than anyone else can afford since long, long before crown store gifting existed. This may have given them 1 more way to get the gold for it, but it's not caused the problem.

I know players who made 100 millions + gold in under 1 month. Believe me, for housing they only use a small portion.

I can't see the selling of crowns ever stopping or getting capped per month because Zenimax make money selling the subs or crowns from the store plus this way you are cutting out the gold seller sites which are linked to the bots you see in the game although I don't see as many bots as there was a year or two ago.

This. It might be helping the big guilds stock even more golds but best spots are almost always taken by same guilds. It's been like that for years now.

Crown selling is a total win for ZoS, i'd easily say their crown sales are times and times more compared to before.

Tricky bit is they leave it in shadows, don't implement a proper trade system, tell you this is a buyer beware market and that leads to a heavy domination where certain groups determine the prices. R.I.P. free market, was good as long as it lasted.

Who the heck buys in game cosmetics so other people can validate that they worked hard for them? Buy them because they are pretty, make you feel good....not as any kind of financial benchmark...I feel like I shouldn't have to be saying this 0.0

I think ZoS could have a trader to convert crowns to gold like they have in Guildwars 2, totally cut out buyer beware ;)
in fact if they had a public trader house guild with no trader could still trade in the public house and also players with no guilds, if this was added to the game you could stop player to player trading!

The most surprising part about selling crowns is how little some people are willing to sell crowns for. On PS4 EU I've seen them regularly go for as little as 100g per crown.

If people are willing to sell for that price, it makes zero sense to purchase them with real life cash. Me, I'd rather keep any crowns than sell for those brain dead, more money than f'n sense prices.

Those who buy gold for traders probably did it in the past as well. Now at least they're doing it by a means which supports the game and doesn't support RMT.

I guess I am just not fussed about Gold for Crowns because I played EVE Online and with PLEX it was possible there for years.
