Fix was not retroactive, though, and only applied to RotW mails you obtained henceforth.

Oh, thanks, I guess all those stockpiled rewards of the worthy are worthless then.

Yes, unfortunately, but the patch notes stated that the old RotW containers would not be updated to the new drops. Old RotW containers and the new ones have different item ID numbers.

Just like old vs new jewelry, Zenimax stated they did not want to create an unlevel playing field by permitting players to stockpile old items in order to immediately acquire stockpiles of new items.
