Sorry, I don't know if this is the right place to ask this at all but it seems that I cannot activate my 30 days of game time without subscribing first. And of course I don't have a credit card. Does this mean I really have to purchase a time card to play the 30 days?

Yes, you need to buy and activate a gamecard, you will get your free month added to the month\months from gamecard.

@Audigy, I checked, Paypal actually still requires a credit card. I had to cancel my credit card last week and while I was awaiting the new one to arrive I was trying to figure out how to activate my sub. I tried linking my account directly to Paypal and it worked but ESO still wanted Credit card info for Paypal. Luckily my new card came in time.
