night blade build sans spectral bow?

Pretty straightforward. Given the change to the bow proc no longer being free and the clunky animation coming, are we running merciless resolve anymore? Is there a replacement for it?

Minor Beserk comes from Combat Prayer so is it that useful in organized (read: not pug) group content? Is there anything to replace it with?

Summon Shade? Expert Hunter?

Is it even worth it?

The proc alone still does around 4k dps on dummy self buffed and it costs half of your spammable, the skill still helps with sustain, just not as much as before, and that's a good thing.

I found the spectral bow skill distracting and clunky enough to represent a dps loss to me so I was on the verge of dumping it before the nerf. When I discovered my red twisty path on the ground will no longer damage and heal both, I put the nightblade on the shelf with my magsorc. Why does every big patch simply make my game less fun. *sigh*

Because ZoS thinks that balancing is the same as making all classes the same.

Personally, I find it awkward to use in the rotation and its unforgiving, miss a light attack and you've pretty much screwed the entire rotation up. I also don't like those kind of skills; Power Lash (which has been nerfed into oblivion), Crystal Frags, and the bow proc. I prefer just straight to use skills.

I use Resolve for the minor berserk but in group content with an organized and skilled healer, that should be up often from Combat Prayer and further more its going to drop off when you are blocking or roll dodging certain mechanics anyway.

Admittedly, I am a new night blade and the rotation is the most difficult I have come across. I respect the high damage skilled players are able to achieve with nightblades and the more I practice the better I will get at the rotation, but I am interested in learning its full use.

It used to be very clear that firing the bow was damn there always worth it because it was a free proc. Now if you are being pressured you have to weigh in whether it's worth it or not and in PvE Implale does more damage however Merciless is close contender and does almost as much damage for half the price so for PvE I don't mind the change as much since it makes you think for for PvP I absolutely hate it with every bone in my body.

Dont heavy attacks now give 2 stacks?
You could make the rotation a bit easier by adding a heavy attack
