Did brenton get a buff?

If mag toons need to go the resistance route, then I think Brenton has at least 35 cp worth of spell resistance. I don't really know mag well, but I wanted to see what the fuss was about. So I took my brenton pet sorc mule out and loaded resistance like my solo stamblade. When editing cp that spell resistance looked huge all of the sudden. Seemed useless with shields as the defensive focus.

Correct on both comments.
It's an indirect buff I'm asking about. The resistance bonus had less value with uncapped shields based on max mag than it does with the new system.
An example of an indirect nerf was when mechanical acuity was introduced and became meta. The crit bonus for Khajiit was practically useless.
My primary complaint about racial passives is that they change the rules, thus changing the passive values, but we are stuck. In this case I think it works out as a buff to Breton, but I'm curious to see what mag mains think.

jypcy✭✭✭✭✭I think by “buff” OP is referring to the value of a racial passive increasing as opposed to the actual number on a racial passive increasing. With that interpretation, I’d suppose that yes, because bretons’ spell resist passive now applies to shields, you might consider it a (slight) buff to that passive.
Which, on that note, my Breton Templar tank with torugs has a comical indifference in spell and physical resists.
