Hey all!
I've recently decided to catch my stamplar up to the meta (poor thing was stuck with Nightmother's Gaze) and just have some questions.
I'm currently almost at full AY + Relequen gear (just need one more AY weapon). As the AY jewelry come in healthy, I was wondering what the best trait to transmute them would be? I've heard 1x Infused + 2x Bloodthirsty, 1x Bloodthirsty + 2x Infused and 3x Bloodthirsty. Is there are definitive "best" choice?
As a stamplar, I've seen that Alcast slots shards on his backbar. I understand it's for the Aedric Spear skill line passive that provides 10% crit on the backbar, but he gives up Deadly Cloak to do this. Is this trade off worth it?
Also, the weapons used to be Nirnhoned mainhand + Infused offhand (for dual wield) - is that still optimal? Or is full infused better now? Why?
Thanks in advance for any answers!
Cheers,
Illurian

Depends on your group. Any combination between 3x infused and 3x bloothirsty pulls roughly the same dps. However Infused will give you more DPS pre execute range, then bloodthirsty will allow you to play catch up on dps during execute phase (however if your group doesnt make it to execute you're just throwing away dps). I tend to run 2x infused 1x bloodthirsty on all classes since I mainly run with progression groups.
Deadly cloak damage has been nerfed, plus survivability is at a stage where being without 25% aoe mitigation is a fine trade off for extra dps. Especially if you're wearing AY since it gives a tonne of crit. However this does depend on your group.
As of this patch 3x infused is best.
- It pulls slightly more single target dps in exchange for slightly less AoE dps.
- You can run 1x stamina steal glyph (since it now does physical damage) which will allow you to run blue food while having the sustain of dubious. (Also as of this patch rending will proc BOTH enchants off cooldown, so running Infused again is more beneficial.)
Something to note also is enchants will remember the bar they we're procced from, so poisons on the back bar is now a dps loss, you should instead run poison enchant or beserking enchant with an infused trait as it will continue to proc on the front bar.
You can have shards on your back bar and still have deadly cloak on your front bar.
Front: rending slashes, jabs, trap, cloak, potl Ult: FDB
Back: PI, endless, caltrops, repentance, shards Ult: ballista
Full infused weapon traits will be very strong this patch, so you should try that out.
About blazing spear: This skill is not only for the increased critical damage, it is actually meant to be used. I know, it is a magicka skill an its damage will be low. But it will significantly increase the burning light procs, which scale with you weapon damage. So I recommend using this skill like a normal dot.
