many of the strongest stuff have been brought in line while lower ones brought up, granted some stuff looks borked (bleeds are still stronk tho not as stronk as old harness) but if those get fixed up like pets being busted (from what i read) and afew other things get fixed i would say "nerfmire" might be the best patch in a long time.
PLEASE REPLY TO ME WITH @dsalter otherwise i'm likely to miss the reply if its not my own thread

I'm not sure I'd go so far as, "best." But, yeah, there's a lot of good stuff in here. A lot of it stings, but most of it is pretty reasonable, if you can get out of the mindset of, "OMG, they're taking mah toyz."

I think I've said it before, but honestly, I'm pretty happy with this overall. I preferred the cast time shield change, but this works too.

The one thing I'm not wild about are the bugs, but it's patch day, so adjust your expectations accordingly.

Yeah, it's good. Wolf Hunter and Summerset were also pretty solid changes on the balance front, so I'm a little torn. It's been a good year so far. Though, this may be some serious improvement.

Well, neither tank nor healer is a role for Nightblade in the first place - this is a hit and run class, high burst damage, no tank, a glass cannon class, which relies on stealth, surprise and quick escapes. So this is just more class-like now.

Not designed by default by they can be pretty good tanks/healers if you know how to play them.

I think since Morrowind they've had an idea what they want from the gameplay, now they're trying to shift more and more towards that.

I feel it's just going to change a lot of what ESO was combat wise to reach that new vision.

Yeah people are just crying because they can't stand in red anymore without consequences.
Now they have to think where to stand and to rolldodge once in a while while playing dps.

Nightblades now have a heal that´s max health based, health-for-health healing, their major resolve / ward comes from a passive...

Nope, really they make good tanks as well, which is intentional. All classes should be able to perform all roles, albeit in slightly different ways.

And as for the OP I agree. It is also nice to see the devs giving clear comments as to what the intention of the changes are. :)

I used to think like this, however in ESO balance, Devs minds and actually many players minds you aren't actually correct. Just isn't the case with direction

I feel the same about Sorcs, glass cannons etc, ZOS don't however they empowering then as tanks. Whilst my gut tells me that's an abomination there are enough people out there that want to do everything in every role.

Hey I'm kinda one of then pioneered sorc healing when matriarch got Its buff and enjoy it.

But I think the classic way of thinking - blade hit and run, sorc burst glass cannons, template healing, DKs tanky is actually outdated and old school.

Do I agree with it? No. As it flattens all the interesting spikes i capabilities

Whatever they have in mind with it, it seems to work, Tamriel was never that crowded as currently. Since about a year ESO is really taking off and got very popular - ok, to get into the game with 4 DLCs and 2 chapters is pretty cheap now as well, and the content is massive compared to those few bucks to get into the game - and ZOS is a lot more generous now as well, like daily rewards where people can actually get as well some of the goodies in crown store for free - even apex mounts.

TBH I like almost all changes made in this patch, the only thing I miss is... more nerfs...ekhem... adjustments to things like bleeds or HA meta. But in general I like this patch :)

As a templar who played pre- and post-morrowind I can tell the Morrowind templar nerfs definitely 'were that bad', as you state it. Losing 10-15k single target damage over one night is bad. Magplar DD's (and stamplars in a lesser content) has been out of endgame PvE content until Summerset. Then the only reason they become somewhat viable then is due to the psijic order skillline, meaning we became stronger while slotting lesser templar skills. (Which also is valid for the magicka warden, despite them still not being as strong these days.) It will be this patch they're really coming back now, after an absence for one-and-a-half year.

With that said, you're comparing a shield nerf (which actually does hit all magicka classes) to a damage (and healing) nerf specified to one class only.

My mNB is far from the stealthy hit & run...he can do the stealthy stuff but his build is more like a sorc layering in AoEs with some nice burst & executes to finish off what stands in my way. Then again this build was only slightly affected by the changes and is doing fine after this patch.
