Insomnia in Grand Psijic Villa: Please Help

Having spent a few long days and nights in what I initially thought was a lovely new home, I have a terrible problem... I just can't sleep.

On moving day I was more tired than I have ever been. I spent the whole day up a ladder, fitting all the outside lighting so no visitors would fall into the ocean at night if out having a lovely moonlit stroll. After spending a small fortune on outside lighting, I was so looking forward to seeing the place being lit up at night, and turned the outside lights on early in anticipation...

After what seemed like many hours had passed and the sun still hadn't gone down, I told myself that perhaps the nights are just longer in Artaeum... but after what I am sure must of been a few days, I have realised the sun will never go down! For there is no night in Artaeum! The sun just sits there in the sky... forever.

I tried as hard as I could to get some sleep, but that bright light coming through the stained glass windows, just never ends. I went down to the sea cave I built, hoping I might catch some zzzz’s in there, but that light is almost magical, it permeates everything and even the cave was not dark!

I teleported over to the main island and spoke to the receptionist at the front desk at Ceporah Tower. She confirmed there is no darkness on Artaeum. I asked how the hell anyone sleeps and she jovially muttered something about after a few hundred years of being in the Psijic order, one simply evolves to no longer need sleep. ...Thanks. Very helpful. I enquired about when the next time the island would be moved, as before I moved in I was specifically told the Psijic Order moves the island frequently... the receptionist chuckled and told me that indeed the island is moved frequently, once every few hundred years. I'm hoping she was joking.

I should have known there was something wrong when the notice read 'Free Grand Psijic Villa'. I mean, common, who in Akatosh's name gives away a house for free, let alone a ploughing VILLA! I knew it was too good to be true. The place didn't come with any warning. They could have at least supplied 'blackout blinds'.

I spoke to my lawyer back in Tamriel and he did some digging. Apparently the last 20 occupants all moved out after the first week of living in a property with no night, and more than half of them sought psychiatric help. No wonder the freaking place was free! What's more, apparently the Psijic order gave up trying to sell any of the island Villa's, and very recently all the villa's on the island were once again given out for free to a host of unsuspecting new owners, and without any type of health warning whatsoever!!

I teleported back home to the Villa and went through my tomb of Psijic spells, just hoping there would be some kind of Psijic cure for insomnia, but nothing. I can turn back time, but I can’t fall asleep or make the f-ing sun go down. Great.

Comrades, I need your help. I. Must. Sleep. Please, if you have any sleeping spells, pills, advice, whatever; I need your help, before I drown myself in that lusciously clear sparkling ocean.

technically, without any lighting the inside of the building is pretty damn dim. So just sleep in the basement.

As per your request the Psijic Order has made your Villa a practical experiment for research studies in Alteration...
...we've enchanted your windows to give the appearance of a day to night rhythm once you are inside.
If there are any problems, please do let them know over in your foyer at the old College of Psijics.
    Sweet Dreams!

    That's grand! :lol::lol:
I use the place as a storage now, never had such a beautifully big hall before where I can put a whole forest of huge trees, monolythic rocks and an army of planks.
The biggest warehouse I could dream of!

On the other hand check out the Glade, it's surely a remedy for your insomnia.
(And it has a downward tower!! Thank you ZOS!)

I suggest you go drink with the revellers in Windhelm, you will end up blind drunk or just blind from alcohol poisoning. Problem solved.
If that doesn’t suit you I’m sure some of the sanguine followers could lend you a blindfold....

Haha awesome... I'm now actually wondering if the Psijiic Order secretly has their own covert sleep deprivation experiment going on... hey it's not paranoia if they're REALLY after you!

I'm DELIGHTED that there's a house that is consistently beautiful, in a game where most things only look good when there's lots of light.

This one highly suggests a silk sleeping mask made from the silk pillow covers stolen from High Elf homes, I mean silk bought from the markets yes. This one does not steal... *Shifty eyes.*
This one finds the mask makes all the difference in being able to sleep with that incessant sunshine... Silly Psijics. Sunshine all the time is even more annoying than night all the time. This one knows.

Or this one supposes you could always hire an Orc as a butler and when this one needs sleep just ask for a tap to the noggin' from a club wielded by the tusked ones. Makes sense no?

Yea its so disappointing... Some of the best looking lighting in my opinion is the Alinor and now its pretty obsolete in there own Grand Villa. Was so looking forward to seeing the street lights and torches light up outside but don't even need to place them now. How painful would it be for ESO to give us a day and night time option at least for our homes or at least keep this house's lighting consistent with all of there others.

I don't think the inside lighting is the complaint here if you take a look at the posts again... It's the outside lighting as there is no night time which takes away from the lighting effects you see at night in all other houses.
